In the final book of the Codex series, Abe goes to London to hunt down the book their they have been looking for since the first book in this series and he meets Sloane who has been hired to find the same man. I loved the chemistry and tension between the Abe and Sloane as they worked together. When they bring in the the Codex team I love the family dynamic of the team and how they accept Sloane.
This book is narrated by John Masterson and Anastasia Watley. Both narrators were new to me and I enjoyed their performances and they way they brought Abe and Sloane to life. This was a great wrap up to the series and I will miss the Codex team.

It was a nice conclusion to the series. I liked the epilogue where we can see where everyone ended up.
But sadly this book wasn’t as good as the previous ones. I just couldn’t connect with Abe & Sloane as a couple. Also the plot dragged on in the beginning with a lot of information about Sherlock Holmes which I didn’t care for.

In the Clear is such a beautiful story that it breaks my heart to know the series is finished. I love that Abe is able to meet his match; the woman who not only keeps him on his toes, but often bests him. And in return, he takes care of her in a way she never knew was possible. The way Abe and Sloane show each other the affection they crave is so heartwarming.
Abe has been this stoic boss figure for the entirety of this series. It was a privilege to be able to see the softer sides of him that even he didn’t know existed. His roughness and kindness blended into the perfect cocktail of sexiness. And Sloane is this powerful, charming woman with so much vulnerability. I love the way Kathryn Nolan writes her heroines to be just as sexy as the heroes. Sloane is a prime example.
This book makes me want more stories about private detectives. I never thought of them as sexy before, but they are so observant and attentive to the other’s needs. Is there anything hotter? And the mystery element was just as heart-pounding as the romance. I found myself getting frustrated along with the characters. I’ve become just as invested in this mission as they have. So this finale was extremely gratifying.

This was such a great conclusion for this series! I absolutely love Sloane, and I’m so happy that she was able to make Abe have fun. There’s more to life than work, and they definitely helped each other see that. The balance between suspense and romance was great, the case kept me intrigued and kept me guessing, and none of my guesses were correct, haha! So good!

From the moment I opened the book and started, I was sucked into a world of lies, deceit and mystery. Abe and Sloane took me on the ride of the my life and I wasn’t ready to let them go when it was all said and done. We’ve watched Abe through the first two books of the series and this man was such a mystery, and it took Sloane to bring him to his knees.
Kathryn’s connection to her characters is so palpable that you can feel it with every word she writes and you are drawn in and connected to them just as much. Every single detail is meticulously written so that you feel you are there and part of the story, watching it all unfold in front of you as though you were in the theater watching it happen on the big screen.
I cannot get enough of this book, and all of the Codex books. If you haven’t yet read them, I suggest diving in! Once you start, you won’t be able to put them down!
Five stars for this thrilling romantic suspense that will keep you guessing and then when it’s all said and done, you’ll be on your knees begging for more!

Sloane is a BADASS!! We all knew the woman to bring Abe Royal to his knees would have to be, and damn! She’s sharp, she’s in control. She’s sexy. Everything I wanted for Abe. The push and pull of these two together is incredible to read! Sloane breaking down Abe’s walls is everything! We’ve gotten to know Abe through the last two books, but I was not prepared for how much I would fall in love with the broody Codex leader. We see so much more of his personality shine in this book and I adore it! What a complex, smart, caring, loving hero we have! The glimpses we get into Abe’s softer side tug at your heartstrings! The love Freya, Sam, Henry and Delilah have for him and vice versa is so wonderful to read!
There are so many amazing lines from this book...Kathryn is a master with words! I love all of her books (Strictly Professional is one of my all time favorites!) but Abe and Sloane just may have taken that coveted spot! The plot, the intrigue, the twists and turns, the tension, the STEAM (fans self profusely)..she is hands down one of the best!
I’m so happy the last Codex book is in the world, but I’m not ready to leave this world and these characters behind! Abe and Sloane sent us off in the best possible way.
