This book ignited something in me— I truly cannot give it enough stars!! The writing and narration were phenomenal, and I loved the poetry throughout the book. I love reading and writing poetry, and this book felt like a love letter to both. The Poet X spoke to me in a way I will never forget.

I want to read absolutely everything Elizabeth Acevedo EVER writes in the future. Her words are magic, and a lantern in all this darkness. I am blown away by the sheer genius in this book

No star rating because I'm not this book's target audience. I think it's an important book, and I can see why some folks what it banned even though I think that's stupid, but I am definitely not a teenage girl anymore. A little too YA for me.

A quick read. I enjoyed it. The writing was hit and miss for me. But i did like the story. Most things happen in the last 100 pages.

Definitely out of my comfort zone just because the amount of romance was a little too much for me but I really enjoyed the story line! I loved watching the characters develop and loved Xiomara’s powerful perspective! Definitely very interesting and powerful!
