A little to much of the “ this is a bad idea” talk between several chapters but this was very cute!

Story was cute enough and straightforward. There is good character development and some darker elements. The push and pull of the relationship was a little annoying sometimes but I liked how they did the nanny relationship as less of a boss/employee relationship.

This book was 200 pages too long. The last 200 I was doubting their compatibility and the last 100 I was getting severe PTSD from my own life about their internal monologue about the other and the things they were doing and saying. "What do you want me to say" is legit going to haunt me until I die. My rating would have been higher if it wasn't for the absolute unnecessary bullshit. To be fair, every trope in this book I dislike.. Small town, musician, single-parent, etc. but it's Lauren Asher so I'll read it. I just think their dynamic and struggles were hitting a little too close for home in the worst way possible so I personally couldn't work through it.
