!! 4.5 !!
i’ll start out with saying i haven’t been reading romance lately because it hasn’t appealed to me and has felt so surface level. i read one chapter of this and was hooked.
sofie copewell ran away from landmark without much of an explanation. 8 years later and she’s back in the very town and home she ran away from.
this book is the perfect second chance, childhood friends to lovers. this isn’t a trope i typically like, but this one is the exception, i LOVED it. you get to spend the book trying to figure out why she ran away what exactly happened, & even watching theo and sofie heal and rebuild their relationship. it wasn’t because of some miscommunication or a silly reason, it was totally valid and it made the book that much better and more emotional.
I appreciated how it just picked up and we got right into it. there was no build up and it wasn’t slow at all. there was so much angst and heart ache in the beginning, my heart was hurting.
oh how i adore both characters. both struggled so much being away from one another not ever really having any idea what was going on.
PLEASE check trigger warnings, this book has talk of physical abuse, murder, childhood trauma, panic attacks, etc. it’s really emotional, angsty, & sad. HOWEVER it’s so super good and if you want spice this definitely has it LOL.

I might come back and change my rating later because I can’t decide where I land between a 3 and 4. Definitely closer to a 4 than 3 even though if you read my reviews, a 3.5 is actually a good read to me lol.
I did enjoy this book. It’s a second chance, small town romance which are two of my favorite tropes so high marks just for concept. I love the ease of everything with Sofia and Theo, definitely love that their relationship started so young. I enjoyed all of the flashbacks to them over the years, the way Sofia was just part of Theo’s family, the whole town being in your business. The clapping and cheering at the diner gave me a good chuckle! It really is a good story!
The only reason I feel maybe something is missing is the response to why she left. She had a valid reason, the buildup of it being told in parts was good, and the final straw before she disappeared was only minimally predictable! I think I needed a bigger response to it all. If Theo held on to being mad at her just a little longer, maybe have a few more blowups before he agreed to hear her out would’ve made all the difference for me. They fell back into life and their relationship just very slightly too easily for me so it seems like the severity of what happened to cause Sofie’s departure and the aftermath that was Theo’s heartbreak and spiral was slightly glossed over.
Overall still a good read. I’d definitely continue the series and read more from Willow Aster. There were a lot of fun elements from the town overall, Owen and Dakota I’m sure will continue to give us laughs. A good read for sure!

Oh my heart! This book is full of angst, and I loved every moment of Theo and Sofie's reunion.
Theo's heart was broken when Sofie left their hometown, and it never fully healed. Sofie is back, and her only goal is to help heal the wounds that are left from her leaving. These two bruised and broken people find their comfort in each other.
Sofie's story is so heartbreaking. She is so strong and seeing her open up to Theo was such a relief. Her compassion and love was immense. And Marley and Dakota were the best second family.
Theo was so sweet. His heart was raw and bleeding, so he was cold at first. Once he found out the truth about Sofie leaving, though, this changed. And how he cared about Sofie was swoony and wonderful.
The hints at the next story is

What a swoonfest! I love a second chance romance, and this one was beautifully emotional and so, so romantic. I have a real soft spot for second chance romance stories, especially when it comes to childhood sweethearts. I got completely swept up in Sofie and Theo’s love story and was in romantic bliss while reading it, reading passages over and over again just to take it all in. I loved every word!
Sofie and Theo were childhood best friends, and they were each others first loves with both thinking it would last forever. Until Sofie abruptly leaves and returns eight years later.
The feels in this book! I could feel everything that transpired between Sofie and Theo. I could feel the confusion, the pain and the anger, but most of all I could feel the love. These are two people who so clearly belong together, and their love for each other was never in doubt. It was a matter of watching them wade through all of the hurt from the past and slowly finding their way forward, and their journey was absolutely beautiful.
A small town romance with a family feel, this book is heart wrenching, engrossing, and compelling. I absolutely love second chance romance stories and the way Willow Aster delved into some tough issues was exquisite. I loved all the different emotions this book captured. It’s a story about friendship, loss, love, family and trying to survive with the hand you’ve been dealt. I can't say enough good things. A total winner.

Someday is the second novel in Willow Asters Landmark series.
I adore small town, second chance romances and this one has to be one of my faves this month.
It‘s sweet, emotional and spicy. Sofie returns back home to Landmark after 8years but not everyone is happy to see her again.
I really loved Sofie and Theo‘s story. I didn‘t expect it to go that route/way but I enjoyed it alot! I fell in love with these characters sooo fast!
Can‘t wait for the next book and see what Willow has in store for us next!
