This scratched my hunger games and throne of glass itch a bit, but overall found the characters a lil cringey and some holes in the plot.

This book was lowkey cheeks. Like the two main characters annoyed tf outta me, and had the LEAST realistic dialog I’d ever seen in a book. No person would ever say that stuff to a man she just met, let alone one that would technically HAVE to kill her. Not to mention the blatant plagiarism and the world that makes absolutely zero sense. Literally why??? Do they have the trials? It makes no sense

Im so glad I didn’t DNF this at the start like I wanted to! It’s definitely not my preferred writing style in tone but WOW I ended up so hooked I’m desperate to read the next one

this was a really fun read, it was really giving hunger games vibes but with a lot more focus on the relations between the characters, it made me think of vampire diaries in a way with the focus on the relations between all the characters. i ended up enjoying paedyn much more than i thought and i was rooting for her all throughout the book, i love a main character that will not falter from her goal no matter what. i weirdly liked both kai and kitt, and i’m actually quite intrigued to see how their personnalities and their characters will develop after the events of the end of the book. i think the trials were my favorite parts (also jax!! he was so cute i just wanted to see more of him) on the other hand, i took a bit of time to get myself fully in the story and i’m not completely in the kai/paedyn train yet for some reason, but really excited to see how that might change with the second book!
