It was stereotypical trope-heavy, pretty unoriginal (essentially Hunger Games meets Harry Potter), and the writing was redundant... but it was also very entertaining. Also, it definitely reads like it was written by a booktok young adult fanatic, but the author writing it at 18 is still very impressive.

this book was at least 100 pages longer than it needed to be and was so slow. it just kept repeating itself. The main draw was the trials and the only part that were interesting were the dancing in the first and the end off the third. other then that the book was lacking something overall. the banter between the two was good.
