This book is a mess! I don't understand the hype whatsoever. It has thrown in every type of fantasy creature (fae, vampires, wraiths, humans, etc.) and trope you can think of. It was too much, the romance was cringey and forced. Some elements felt unique like the whole quick silver of it all but the rest felt like it was ripping off like 5 other people romantasy books. I didn't like the main characters at all, she was annoying and he sucked. Deeply unimpressed. 2.5 ⭐

Usually I write long and detailed reviews about each book I read, especially if it’s a book I dislike. However, Quicksilver doesn’t deserve it. It’s half baked, generic, barebones fantasy with so much unnecessary smut I felt like I was reading a shitty 2012 Whattpad fic. Apparently Hart wrote this book in two months and it absolutely shows. I have never read a book in 3x speed just to get it over and done with faster but there is a first time for everything. Please if this is one of your favourite books I beg you to read more - the toddler section has more substance.

This was my second attempt at this book because people kept telling me it was good. I did get a lot further in this time not having to deal with the weird use of italics, and I will admit it does read better as an audiobook, but in the end I just couldn't do it. The initial part of the book was relatively good, but after she opened the quicksilver gate it started to feel formulaic in how it portrayed the FMC as a "I'm so tough I don't wear dresses" heroine who also can't stop mentioning how hot this mysterious a**hole fae is.
