I enjoy a dark romance, and I was enjoying this one for a bit. But I should have looked into trigger warnings because I DO NOT like reading about the type of violence that was perpetrated against our main character. And in such detail. Why does this happen often? Especially by writers that are (or I presume are) women? I also hate how it was used, like a way to make our main character stronger. Like, what the actual f*ck?! That’s not how it works!

Blurb:
Imagine this:
Your husband is murdered on your wedding day.
Your gown is soiled in his blood.
You are taken hostage...
Treated like a caged animal.
The man behind your husband's murder is revealed.
His name is Draco Molina.
Draco has power. Respect. Wealth.
He is a savage beast of a man - dominant in every way.
Soon after, he makes you an offer that you can't refuse.
All you have do is submit to him, and in return you won't be punished.
He will reward you handsomely.
But if you disobey, you must be prepared to face the consequences.
What do you do when the most wanted man in the world . . . wants you?

My thoughts:
This book is unimaginably Dark, twisted, gory and uncomfortable/ disturbing in so many scenes it’s unbelievably even with that I really loved it, thats how Twisted iam in and out. (TW: Murder, Rape, kidnapping and torture)

This book is about our FML Gianna Nicotera who is marrying a Mob Boss, on her wedding day her husband gets brutally killed infront of her, she gets kidnapped by her husbands killer, he wants to take her humanity and make her submit to him to control her our MML is that twisted, but little does he know she is fierce , strong and stands up for her self, she will fight for her freedom and survival until the very end. The ending of this book took a very dark turn that I didn’t expect but it opened the way for the second book (Venom & Ecstasy) I can’t wait to start the second book.

Favorite Quote:
“I have accepted my fate. And that fate is to become just as dangerous and ruthless as Draco Molina.”

Trops:
-FML POV
-childhood acquaintance
-Enemies to Lovers (Maybe)
-Mafia/Dark
-Twisted/ Brutal
dark mysterious tense slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

TW for torture, assault, sexual assault, murder

Wow this book is dark. Gianna is a mafia princess and is marrying a mafia hit man, but on her wedding day, her husband is murdered and she is taken. She is held in terrible conditions until the boss comes to see her and he realizes that she is a childhood friend and he wants her. He takes her into his house and puts her through emotional torture to get her to submit to him. This book is very dark and has on page horrors, but I found it very intriguing and wanting to know how Gianna will react and escape. Very interesting, but definitely know you are getting into a very dark, graphic world.

I had mixed feelings on this one until the end. Gia is a stronger woman than I assumed and that makes me very happy. However, all the way through I was waiting for the usual 'he is a monster but he is hot so I will do whatever he wants' trope. That did not happen, and still this was a hard one to stomach with all the violence. I think of all the times that I say the story should have been more realistic and this was realism in its most pure form so I really should not complain. It was the first time in a long time I winced at the horror I was reading. There was one spelling error but otherwise the writing was well done. I do like how this book ended on a cliffy but really. It was a teaser to the next phase in the story. I will be getting back to this series soon, but it cannot buy it right now. Cannot wait to see what happens next, especially to Francesca and Bain.
