I loved this, but I already knew that was gonna happen because Ms. Shanora Williams never fails, after I read the
Mr. Cane series and was introduced to Draco’s character I IMMEDIATELY went and bought these books and I’m so glad I did.

The tension, and angst between Gianna and Draco was so good. I couldn’t put this book down at all.

I liked Gianna, she never held back and she made sure to tell Draco EXACTLY how she felt, I ate that shit up. she also deserves so much better and she BETTER get it in the next book or I’ll riot.

Draco is actually a little crazy but that’s ok because it made me all the more interested in the story and also because he’s sexy. I didn’t really like him in the begging of the book but I have a feeling I’m gonna fall in love with him in the second book based on how this one ended.

I’m excited to see what the rest of this trilogy holds because I know it’s gonna be a rollercoaster.

Read the Trigger warning (graphic rape) after starting and stopped reading because of it.

This was definitely a darker one, which is why I picked it up, so I was prepared for it. I think I need to read the entire trilogy before I can really comment. I’ll say that the romance itself wasn’t that dark considering some stuff I’ve read, but only because I’ve desensitized myself pretty thoroughly, but the environment of the story was pretty dark. There was a degradation scene early on that really surprised me and I almost stopped reading there.
Also shoutout to the business dude who saw me reading this on the plane

Passion & Venom starts with the happy couple vibe, turns into a mafia drama, then pitters out from there. The prose of the novella is really good with lots of potential, but lacks depth in the story and characters. There seems to be inconsistent focus on the characters, only allowing the reader to see the surface motivations and actions of the characters. They all seem to be one dimensional and very bland. Even the action sequences seem monotone because the characters and their personalities seem flat like the teacher from 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off'... "Bueller...Bueller...Bueller.."

Passion & Venom does kick off with an interesting theme of a women on top of the world, newly wed with what she thinks is the love of her life, and gets thrown into a whirlwind. Soon she learns that the world she thought she knew was a made up fairy-tale she kept telling herself. This is where the novella drifts off into a loss of potential. Rather than building up characters, their motivations, and building the story, too much time is spent in setting the scenes, and forcing the story forward. This novella is suppose to be setting the background for the start of a series, and just drops the ball. After the main character gets "released" from the meat of the kidnapping scene I had already lost interest as it took to long to get to the next part of the plot. Then when the main character is suppose to be set up as a force to be dealt with leading into the main story of the full featured length book, I was already tired of her whining and ignorance. Not enough time was spent building the character up to what she is to become in the next installment. It is basically a blurb at the end of the novella.

This is quick read with lots of potential that falls short to capture the emotions of its characters depth and range. It has a great prose and could be improved upon in the main series it is attempting to introduce. I just lost interest in the characters and their motivations as they were not well written. The idea is spot on, but lacks character depth and emotion. Unless you are a fan of this series and have already delved into the main novels, I wouldn't suggest starting here.

This book is fu**ing awkward and weird. Also unbelievable, strange, and did I already mention awkward? It's basically about sex, power and guns.
Not one good character, the storyline is total rubbish. I guess in a duration of not even two weeks since your husband was killed you will be completly mesmerized by the person that got him killed and
skinned his skull and put it out for display.

Really not for me!
