I found the book really insightful into Marty’s life and the hold that addition had on his life.

An honest and heartbreaking story of the addiction that ran Matthew Perry’s life. This book chronicles his struggles with trauma, mental illness, and addiction in many different forms. Towards the end he even says he knows that it will kill him which is sadder to read since his death

Brilliantly written and narrated. Perry does a great job of explaining what it’s like to suffer from addiction. Despite some of the very dark topics he’s been through, he keeps it just light enough to keep you reading whilst understanding the weight of it all. Now knowing everything he’s been through, it’s even more heartbreaking knowing he passed so young. RIP Matthew Perry

This look behind the curtain is heartbreaking. As someone who will always remember Matthew as Chandler, I will now remember him for his willingness and desire to help others through what he too was suffering from.

Matthew Perry's story is sad and heartbreaking, but also filled with hope. So inspirational, emotional, and down to earth. His story feels so more heartbreaking now that he is gone.

I don’t usually post reviews or ratings.

Who ever the editor is for this book should look for a new profession. If I have to be told one more time that he is the funniest person in the room at any point and how many girls he shagged in California in the 90s and 00s one more time I will scream.

There is absolutely no timeline to follow, you just get random stories with no context, good luck trying to figure out what year we are in at any point.

I just wanted to find out a bit of behind the scenes stuff about friends and a bit about his struggle with addiction, but instead I got to learn that when he got sober he used to go to clubs to pick up girls because being sober was more attractive to them at 2am? What the fuck?

Absolutely devastating. With a lot of humor, but made me miserable. It was really hard reading this knowing he’s gone. In the first line of the book, he says he should be dead and to read this as if it’s from the beyond… which it was as I listened. I cannot fathom the pain he went through and hope he’s finally at peace.
