Gone too soon.  The fact that this book ends with such hope for the future and knowing that a year later he was gone - it’s heartbreaking.  The book is more an ode to an addiction than a memoir of a beloved character.  But as he recounts his behind the scenes life during Friends pivotal moment - it is nothing short of amazing that he still made the world laugh.

Beautiful story of strength through addiction. So sad to listen to knowing that he has passed when he was so hopeful for his future

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Matthew Perry. I found it hard to follow the timeline as the general theme was "meet woman, let go of woman, alone, relapse, almost died, sober/therapy, repeat".

This book wasn't enjoyable to me and I feel that Matthew Perry was kind of an arrogant 90s Hollywood star based on how he spoke about women throughout the book. Every woman he mentioned was degraded in some way.

Overall, mad respect to Matthew Perry for writing about his addiction to drugs and alcohol. This book is dark and it's ashame he could not get the help he needed. This is an incredibly sad story with a very sad ending since he died approximately a year after publishing. RIP.
