Blurb read good, as both the english edt. and this one is a translation, and the price was ok, I bought the German eBook, also I might recommend this book to family and friends.
OK, some things that happen are beyond real, starting with the first bank robbery, which would in my view not have happened how it did. But if you are able to read on, this is one twistet book, I almost never knew what would happen next, and in this case, that was what kept the suspense for me.

Mostly written from POV of the female MC.
While this is going in to a different direction and hacking plays only a little, minor role, this is by far the best female MC since Lisbeth Salander - the Huntress from Alexandra Sokoloff would have been just as good but that series is mostly from a different POV if I remember right (Insert book/author does not work now, will change to link later). Headstrong, independent, although married with children, not the typical romance, nor the typical wife.
Hoping that the english translation of the original is as good as the german one.
Highly recommended 5 stars and I am just planning when to buy the next book in the series (price is a bit high, got this one for under 5 Eur, but the price of this has also risen, was just lucky, could have been an Amazon Promo Price).
Will recommend this to my mother and the rest of my family, although she does not like to read too much about abused children, but this one is too good to miss.

Have you ever been in a meeting at work and wished you could just blurt out all the snarky thoughts in your head and damn the consequences? If so, Leona Lindberg is the cop for you. She’s an outspoken misanthrope with a dark past who manages to keep her job on the Stockholm police force because she’s a good detective--and decidedly not because anyone likes her.

Leona’s colleagues don’t want the case because robberies are small potatoes compared to murders, but Leona’s motivations for volunteering to add it to her caseload are...complicated, it turns out. Very complicated.
I like “cop with a dark side” stories as much as the next girl, but you have to really be okay with darkness to be a fan of Leona. If you can’t get behind an antihero, maybe give this one a pass, especially because at 450 pages, you’re going to have to spend a lot of time with her. If you don’t mind your detectives on the shady side, though, step right up.

Kirjan alussa hämmennyin, kun Leona muistutti turhan paljon Silta-sarjan Asperger-piirteistä Sagaa, mutta persoonallisen Leonan takaa löytyikin kirjan edetessä paljon ihan muuta. Yllätyksiä sateli toinen toisensa perään ja loppu tulikin sitten niin puskista, ettei voi kuvitellakaan lukevansa seuraavana mitään muuta kuin Leona-sarjan kakkososan, joka sekin on onneksi tuossa käden ulottuvilla. Sateisen ja kolean juhannuksen viihdykettä parhaimmillaan!

Mit Leona lernt man nicht wie üblich die freundliche und symphatische Ermittlerin kennen. Leona ist anders. Manipulierend, polarisierend und keines Wegs unschuldig.
Durch den spannenden und flüssigen Schreibstil baut die Autorin eine interessante Geschichte auf.
Ich war anfangs überrascht, dass nach ca. 100 Seiten schon eine gewisse Auflösung gab, die ich zwar schon vermutet hatte, aber ich mich fragte wie jetzt noch die Spannung erhalten bleiben soll. Doch vieles verlief teilweise anders als ich gedacht hatte.
Leona muss sich in einer Männerwelt behaupten und scheint auf den ersten Blick ein erfülltest Leben zu haben. Doch Leona trägt Geheimnisse mit sich. Von einer Kindheit, die sie stark geprägt hat bis hin das sie ihre Zukunft anders sieht.
Um ihre Zukunft zu erreichen hat sie einen Plan sich ausgedacht, den es so noch nie gegeben hat.
Wird sie damit durch kommen?
Die Geschichte hat mich ein wenig zwiegespalten. Einerseits fand ich es gute eine Ermittlerin zu haben die man halt nicht nett fand. Auf der anderen Seite habe ich mich ein wenig über die Polizeiarbeit ein wenig gewundert, da ich diese teils unrealistisch fand.
Durch den spannenden und flüssigen Schreibstil baut die Autorin eine interessante Geschichte auf.

Verängstigt presst es einen Teddybären an sich, neben ihm auf dem Boden steht ein Tonbandgerät. Eine Aufnahme wird abgespielt, die Stimme eines Mannes hallt durch den Raum, nur wenn dem Mädchen Geld ausgehändigt würde, bleibe ihm weiteres Leid und Verletzungen erspart, nur damit wäre das Leben des Kindes garantiert. Die Bankangestellten sind völlig perplex, wollen das Mädchen nicht in zusätzliche Gefahr bringen und händigen ihm sieben Millionen schwedische Kronen aus. Kurz darauf verschwindet es spurlos. Selbst Fährtenhunde können ihrem Geruch nicht folgen. Bei der Stockholmer Polizei wird der Fall, der die Presse sofort in Aufruhr versetzt, der 34-jährigen Ermittlerin Leona Lindberg, selbst Mutter zweier kleiner Kinder, übertragen. Die Arbeit erweist sich sehr schnell als äußerst schwierig für Leona, die nebenher noch ihre eigenen Konflikte auszutragen hat.
Mit „Leona – Die Würfel sind gefallen“ ist es der schwedischen Autorin Jenny Rogneby, die selbst als Ermittlerin bei der Stockholmer Polizei tätig war, geglückt, einen Kriminalroman in einem völlig neuartigen Stil zu verfassen. Mit ihrer Protagonistin Leona hat sie einen Charakter erschaffen, der gelinde ausgedrückt alles andere als liebenswert ist. Leona lebt nach ihren eigenen Regeln, möchte aus jeglicher Norm ausbrechen und ihr bisheriges Leben hinter sich lassen und dafür geht sie auch über von der Gesellschaft gesetzte Grenzen hinaus. Der Schreibstil der Autorin ist flüssig und leicht lesbar. Der Plot erfüllt mit purer Spannung, nicht zu überbietender Dramatik und nicht zu erwartenden Wendungen alle Anforderungen an einen ausgezeichneten sowie brisanten Kriminalroman.
Dem Buch verleihe ich fünf von fünf möglichen Sternen, und ich empfehle es gerne weiter an Leser, die Hochspannung ertragen können und das Kontroverse lieben, denn dieses Buch wird auf Grund seiner Hauptfigur Leona polarisieren, da bin ich mir ganz sicher.

I... did not like this book. Among other things, the writing style grated on me (why are two characters describing Nina in the same way, only a few pages apart? And why is there repeats, such as “Her forehead looked damp. I wiped her damp forehead with a cloth.”
I have so many issues with the plot and the necessary suspense of disbelief in a hundred different ways, but my main thing is: this feels like reading a script for a tv show, not a book. It would make a good mini series or actiony movie! In book form it’s just... not enough. Too many plot holes, too many descriptions, not enough consequences.
I hate writing bad reviews but I hoped for so much more than this. Boo.

I've been reading a lot of romance lately and needed a genre break, so picked this one up based of a Shelf Awareness recommendation.
I don't want to give much away, but it is a Nordic Noir in the vein of Stieg Larrsson and Jo Nesbo, but written by a female and featuring a female lead which is refreshing.
Leona is a complicated main character with an intriguing voice. She is not sentimental or emotional, and the reader is given hints into her difficult childhood. I enjoyed being in Leona's brain for the majority of the story as she investigates a bank robbery pulled off by a naked, bloody seven-year old girl.
The writing style was a bit cold, for lack of a better word, and I'm not sure if this is due to translation or just what the author was going for. Not usually my preference but it worked for this book.
I'll definitely be reading the next books in the series because DAMN that ending.
