read this by complete accident when trying to read Carmilla. veryy confusing haha

This book did what it intended to do and it is a lovely story, it just annoyed me a little. It took me a very long time to get into a rhythm with the writing. The dialogue is hard to read but, it is done very realistic for the time and place.
I loved Huck, I thought he had a good heart even if he was a bit dull.
I really loved Jim, I am so happy with the way it end for him.
My major problem began with Tom Sawyer. I hate Tom Sawyer. He could have gotten Jim killed. He had information that could have easily saved Jim, but didn't use it and got them all into so much trouble I was cringing reading the entire thing.

Over all it was okay, not my favorite, but I certainly respect the themes.

This story was very dry for me and hard to get through. It also repeats a lot of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.

A fantastic read! Explores life on the Mississippi for a young boy and a slave. An astonishing insight into the development of relationships despite cultural and social pressures. The characters were diverse and well rounded, with each having their own motivations and desires that orbited the plot. A fast paced adventure tale!
