Like a fairytale

Sweet romance with many tropes. It could have been cheesy but I really liked both MCs and believed in them. There is definitely setups for future books in the series!

Meh. That's how I felt at the end of this.

Did it have sweet and cute moments between Charlie and Kris? Sure. But did that make up for everything else? Not really, no.

The writing was very sophomoric, very silly at times. Charlie and Kris at times read as fairly immature.

It was fairly boring for most of it. At first it took a bit for these two to meet and just that set up was really boring for me and hard to get past. But even once they met, things were going slow. I was reading this going like "wait did I see that this is below 200 pages? How?" It felt like it was going on forever and I don't think I should feel that with a book, especially a shorter one.

I did start to skim parts around 40% in this, especially near the end because I just was losing interest. I almost DNF'ed this several times, but in fairness it did have interesting parts here and there to keep me from DNF'ing.

The "steam" was also minimal and very quickly written - like maybe a paragraph or two max for the sex scenes except for like...one that was maybe a page lol.

I didn't connect with any of the secondary characters either, and barely connected with our main characters.

Overall this just wasn't a win for me. It could have been a lot more interesting than it was, so this just didn't work for me. Thumbs down for me. Do not recommend.

Feel good fake boyfriend

This is such an easy, sweet, light, feel good read. The book was interesting and flowed nicely so I didn’t feel the need to skim over any sections.
The two main characters, Kris and Charlie are really likeable and with almost instant chemistry just waiting to combust. When it did it certainly increased the heat level.
Although there was no angst, there were a couple of little speed bumps but that didn’t stop them from getting their HEA.
Some interesting side characters have me intrigued and I look forward to further instalments in the series.

A super quick read without much substance or interest. A few cute moments but mostly tired tropes and stereotypes.

The only reason this isn't five stars is because the author used the phrase "their tongues battled for dominance"

A small town romance full of hearts and flowers. From the blurb I was salivating for drama and villains. But this was a rather tame good feel romance where even the villains seem to see the light and join the good guys. Even if I didn't get the scandal I wanted I still found this cute and will continue with the series.
