I need to have a family tree or something that shows the relationship among all the characters. I was getting confused with all the relationships. It also doesn't help that almost everyone has multiple names that are all used at different times. I enjoyed this but I was confused a lot of the time.
NO. Entiendo. Nada.

Honestly this book just...confused the hell out of me. I'm not entirely sure what was supposed to happen, as the issue was not resolved in any way. There are so many characters I am now thoroughly confused, and the genealogy info dump did nothing to help that. Characters who were briefly mentioned at best, are now closely related to half of these guys. It was still a fun read for the most part. I always enjoy Acheron popping up (he is life). I glossed over the info dump on Kirian (?) and some other characters. The next book is the last one in the series I believe, and I'm still not seeing how this is going to end. I'm just hoping for most of the lost demons he's collected to survive.

Pretty good even though a good chunk of the story wasn't even the main character, still pretty interesting. I think there are so many characters now that many of them get left out from book to book, but looks like the next one might have some more of my favourites...can't wait for it to come out so I can read it.
I think I'm losing it with this series. I spent the very short time it took to read this book extremely confused. So many characters, and back storys, and folk I'd never heard of, and revelations - some of which I'm sure I was supposed to know but have never memory of learning at any point. And it was so short - again!! Like the last one, it didn't seem worth the year long wait. I understand now how the series will manage to be 14 books long. Sadly, I'm not sure it's worth the wait anymore.
I enjoy this series. My son and I read it together.
I cant wait for more. I can't wait to find out what happens next and where things will go from here. I am always left wondering what next at the end of the books in this series. I also can't wait to see this when the series finally comes out to a movie.

To be frank, my main anchor to this series is Nick's sarcastic character that I can relate to on many levels, but even that charisma and connection is dying, slowly but surely.
First if all, even though it hasn't been too long since I've read the last book, going into this one had me confused. Either I completely forgot everything (not really shocking, actually, with my terrible memory) or I was subjected to an info-dump.
Secondly, Nick doesn't seem to have gone through much character development even though he has aged and experienced a lot. Nor have the other characters. The romance is also dull, and I seriously don't understand why Nick is so attracted to Kody. She ain't that special!
Also, the book and series don't have much depth in them, and some parts disinterested me to the point where I would rather do work. Crazy! Speaking of which... Crazy events happen in these series, one after another, not giving the reader a break to catch their breath. Some may call this 'action-packed', but I call it watering down the effect of dramatic scenes to the point where the ominous and eminent doom will feel like a walk in the park. No cliffhangers will save you now! One more less-than-satisfactory book and I quit.
Also, I found it hilarious that the author decided to suddenly add in a bunch of higher-level vocabulary words to make the writing more flowery and embellished somewhere in the middle of the novel. It was so out of place in such a childish series.
I didn't hate this book per say. I actually had fun in some parts and was mildly amused. However, I cannot blind myself with these little moments of joy from the deterioration of the quality in the story. I will check out the next book, but I doubt I will have the patience to be able to finish the entire series.
