ARC REVIEW
This was the first book I’ve read with an accidental marriage of convenience trope and I. Am. Here. For. It! Tyler and Savannah quickly became my new favorite couple. I received this book as an advanced copy — thank you to the author and the ARC team for allowing me the honor of reading this amazing story!
Tyler fell hard for Savannah and he became the walking definition of SIMP, but it was cute! What I didn’t expect and what made this a hard 5-star read was the discussion about mental and physical health, not only as an athlete, but as a female athlete. Talking about these things can be hard, but I loved how both characters helped each other heal and understand that it’s okay to not be okay, even when you’re living your dream.
It was beautiful watching Savannah and Tyler become each other’s pillar to lean on and biggest fan. The banter was light-hearted and cute and the romance was sweet and spicy, which is the perfect way to describe the relationship Savannah and Tyler shared. I read this in 24 hours and I would not mind doing that again to relive this amazingly beautiful story!

4.5⭐️ this was my first ARC and I blew through it. It was a cute lil romance and an easy read.
I love that Daniel and Kelsey from the first book made an appearance towards the end and there was no 3rd act break up

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is the first book of the author's that I've read and it was an easy and enjoyable read. This is book 2 in the Wilmington Football Series but can be read as a standalone. The book's blurb lets you know what to expect, but be aware this book explores an eating disorder and toxic environment. It's a good first person dual pov marriage of convenience sports romance.
Following in her mother's footsteps, Savannah is determined to stay on the cheer them - even if there are a lot of rules that are putting pressure on her. Being married to Tyler, a football player, will definitely make her lose her job but he offers her a deal she can't refuse. While she finds him attractive, she isn't interested in making their marriage a real one. Meanwhile, Tyler fell at first sight with her and doesn't mind being married to her. Of course, being in a relationship will help prove to his family that he is better than they think. As they spend time together, Savannah allows Tyler see himself in a more positive light and get the help that he needs while he supports her and makes her feel loved - especially when she goes through difficult times.
The mutual attraction is there from the start but their romance is a sort of a slow burn, in terms of them admitting their feelings to each other. Tyler is more aware and not bothered by his feelings first and I love how hard he fell for her. While it takes a while for Savannah to catch up to his feelings, they have enough sweet and spicy moments for readers to enjoy. This is an open door romance but nothing that will take over the plot. I appreciated the author's approach to mental health, including dealing with an inferiority complex, and showing the struggles that Savannah faced as a cheerleader. But, I have to agree with some of the reviews saying that it did feel as if too much was going on at once in the second half of the book and the solutions to their individual struggles seemed matter of fact - though I was glad they accepted the help they needed. I'm sure other readers won't mind those things and this was a book that I liked, which is why I rounded up. I think fans of the series and author will be satisfied with this addition to the series.

Ty and Savannah own my heart, I just couldn’t put this story down. Against the Rules is such a sweet and spicy story, and I loved how fast and hard Tyler fell for Savannah.
Against the Rules does a great job at talking about mental health, and it does a really good job at showing the negative side that can come with being a pro athlete.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5

I already mentioned this book in my stories right after I finished it. This book was incredible. I love the “teach me to be sexy” vibe in books as well as sports themes, so I went into this book thinking it would be another fun read in those categories, however this book surprised me in the best way!
Okay, the story was fun, the characters well written but the attention to mental illness, stuggles, giving up on something you love and the thought proces that goes into that is what made me so emotional while reading this book. I recently went through a same process and whew! Did this hit close to home!

This book was exactly what I wanted it to be. Tyler is such a cinnamon roll, golden retriever boyfriend and he fell so fast and so hard. I loved the way he loved Savannah. Their relationship was fun and sexy and even with their issues, it was so positive. I loved that Tyler was open about going to therapy as an athlete. I think it’s awesome to see it so normalized in a book. Brittany dealt with hard issues in such an approachable way and I appreciate that so much.
This book was fun and spicy and everything you want from a Vegas marriage sports romance.
