This book was so addicting I did not want to put it down!! It continues right where it left off in book one and I was sucked into the story completely. I love Phoebe and Rocky so much! They are perfect for each other. I also love the found family dynamic in the story. All 6 of them would go to great lengths to help each other out. They would do whatever possible to keep each other safe and that is how they show their love to each other. Phoebe and Hailey’s bond is also a big reason I love this book. It reminds me of my sister and I. Lastly that plot twist at the end has me sat and waiting for the next book. I loved loved loved this book!

It was boring and drawn out. I barely enjoyed book 1 but it ended in a good cliffhanger so I thought it was going to get better. It never did.

That was... underwhelming. Fucked up and twisty, but underwhelming

girlllllll this is LITERALLY the addicted series in sheeps clothing. like, trick- or-treat, happy halloween, AU type of clothing because the character archetypes are legit the exact same.

plot wise, it focused a wee bit more on the cons and further developing the characters but something still feels weak. i get that there’s an overarching plot so this book could only give so much away (and be sure the twists did get me once or twice) but this didn’t feel like enough to sustain a whole book. this one and the first book could’ve been combined to make a stronger and more compelling mystery(?) to me.

with that ending though i’m currently invested in the love triangle of all love triangles and that is the only thing keeping me going!!!

thank you to netgalley and berkley for the arc in exchange for an honest review!

Overall: I absolutely devoured this book!! When I picked up Dishonestly Yours (book 1), I thought the premise sounded cool, unique, interesting… I had no idea how much I’d be drawn into and obsessed with this world, the characters, and the storylines the Ritchie sisters were building!!

Tropes:
🍓 best friend’s brother
🖤 forbidden-ish romance
🍓 found family
🖤 small town
🍓 con artists
🖤 grumpy x grumpier

Bookish Thoughts: I literally cannot get enough of the Tinrock and Graves siblings!! This book series has brought me so much joy, kept me so engaged, and made me stay up way past my bedtime!

After the years and years of pining, longing, and loving each other from afar, we finally get to see Phoebe and Rocky’s relationship blossom in this book. We started to get a taste at the end of Dishonestly Yours. However, Destructively Mine really showed us what it looks like to finally act on your love after waiting over 10 years. There were so many amazing lines of Phoebe and Rocky really expressing their true emotions and you could just feel the ache in your bones for how impactful being open and honest (well, honest-ish) finally was for them!

It wasn’t just feelings though, there’s definitely considerably more spice in this book than the previous one. It was just bordering on too much for me, but really only because I wanted to get back to the main plot lines.

We got a much deeper look at the other Tinrock and Graves siblings in this book. I absolutely loved learning more about Nova, Oliver, Hailey, and Trevor. I’m really, really hoping to get some of their POVs in book 3. I think Oliver has SO much to give to a romance novel specifically, and I really hope we get to see him shine!

I also really started to like Jake in this book. I think he’s a great addition to the family, and I am really excited to see what happens next with his role on the team! Oh, and I can’t forget: we need more Carter!!

Overall, this is a definite must read if you liked the first book in the series. It’s long, but buckle up. You’re going to love it! 😍

I wasn’t quite as into this as the first book in the series, but it was still fun to revisit these characters, especially with the mystery of where they all came from. I still really like Rocky and Phoebe as a couple and I’m glad the plot of this book didn’t involve any conflict between them. Through this whole book the vibes were there between Hailey and both Oliver and Jake and I’m hoping it’ll will turn into a poly relationship, like fully MMF rather than a love triangle.
