Grace is lost.
Sam is alone.
Isabel is broken.
Cole is Cole.

As before from Shiver to Linger, Forever picks up where the last book left off. Grace is shifting between human to wolf in a cycle that leaves her lost to the rest of the world, even when she is feet away from Sam's arms. Sam is lost without his girl, living each day unable to believe in his cure still. Isabel is trying to help, but is stuck in the middle between her father's desire to shoot all the wolves and the way Cole has before an addiction. Cole is trying to live, trying to find himself, and trying to find a cure.

I felt like this was an echo of Shiver. I liked it, but it felt like it took forever to finish with slow moments. It could be I was on the edge without knowing or it had lost the hold on my head. I would not re-read Forever like I would Shiver. Though, once more I suggest anyone who liked the first two books to try this one out as it gives peace with what could come with an open ending.

Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed with this book. I remember reading Shiver and finding it enthralling and not being able to put it down. Linger was a disappointment because it didn't reach that high standard that Shiver set. Forever, however, was a disappointment in almost every way. It just fell completely flat with me until the very end. I feel like Linger and Forever could have easily been combined into one book and the series would have been much stronger. Forgive the pun, but Forever just felt like it went on forever. There were chapters and chapters where nothing really happened except people exchanged a few phone calls and thought longingly of each other. I don't need constant action to entertain me, but I do need something to keep me interested. The only thing that saved this book from a dreaded 1 star rating was the end. It was exciting and had me gripped to the seat, and the ending was satisfying in many key areas. I just wish the ending had come 250 pages earlier.

Critically
Plot – 3 out of 5 stars
Honestly, I was hoping the plot of this book would improve over the previous two but it was very similar. There was a much bigger conflict which was interesting but then another angsty romance was added to the lineup. It got boring sometimes again and I felt like the ending was interesting but kind of sad all the same.

Writing Style – 3.5 out of 5 stars
There’s nothing much that’s different from this book to the previous one. The writing style is descriptive and detailed though slow paced. The narrative dragged a bit and kind of made it hard for me to keep engaged. However, it was still poetic and lyrical in delivery.

Characters – 4 out of 5 stars
I kind of wish I could say that I ended up falling in love with these characters by the end, but that’s just not true. I like them all well enough but the whole story as well as their personalities were just too dramatic for me.
Grace changed in this book. From the end of the second book to this one, she’s quieter, much more vulnerable. She kept her defiant spirit as well as her independence. But she’s tired and that really came through.
The rest of the side characters are also much more stressed out, specially since the plot of this book is pretty intense for them. They’re all dealing with a lot of different things and it affects each of them in different ways.

Emotionally
SpoilerI finally managed to re-read and finish this series after reading it in middle school the first time and I have to say that it’s not as good as I remember.

In this third book, I was looking for something much more intense than what this book was, but I liked it.

The plot is dramatic. We follow Grace, now shifting into a wolf which brings a whole new set of problems into her life and the life of her loved ones. I don’t know what I was really expecting from this book but it definitely could’ve used more action in the plot. It was pretty simple in general, but the characters spend most of the time thinking, plotting and dealing with drama which is what gives the book its length. I was really invested in the saving of the wolves. This thing that has brought the main characters together, kept them apart and brought them together again is in danger and they all do their best to make sure they can keep the pack safe. I wanted to read and be involved in that more but most of the time the story revolves around the separation between Sam and Grace. I was just generally annoyed with the fact that they were the most important thing in the entire trilogy, by now I’m just beyond caring about the angst in their relationship and want something more. What I get instead is another angsty relationship, much more toxic than the first and a lot of trying to figure out how to do something good. There were a lot of interesting elements within this finale that I wanted to explore a lot more: Grace’s time as a wolf, Cole’s family and his intelligence, Beck and his past, etc. All these things were part of the narrative but they weren’t developed enough. The things that could’ve actually made the story the most entertaining were not really taken as much into account as I wanted. I liked how they managed to get everything together though those last few chapters were really intense and much too close for my own comfort. I think the ending was sweet but overall, it left me unsatisfied. I wanted more from the story.

I like Grace in general, really, but I wished for more growth throughout the series. I feel like she started on a great path in the second book but because of the change to werewolf, the growth was more stagnant than I generally like from my main characters. I wanted her to be more daring, to just be more than she actually was.

I liked the romance. That sounds weird since I’ve complained about it a lot but I really did like it. It just had too much attention throughout the series. I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if the werewolf story was the focal point, instead of the romance. The pairing of Isabel and Cole are the most complex characters but not in the best way possible. They are almost toxic personalities and they are definitely not in the best state of mind at all throughout the series. I kind of just want to wrap them in my arms and give them love.

Overall, this series let me down. I wanted to love it as much as I did when I was younger and I read it the first time. The romance is the focal point of the entire trilogy and while I enjoyed it overall, it made the story kind of boring and didn’t keep me engaged throughout the whole thing. I really liked the werewolf lore, what attracted me to the trilogy in the first place, and I wish it would’ve had a more important role in all the books.

I don't even know where to start... Well... First of all, I liked this book a lot. I think it was better than 'Linger', because we are actually expecting something. Linger dragged on and we were wondering when the heck Grace was going to shift. In 'Forever' we were waiting for something but not in a 'OMGosh how long is this going to last' kind of way. I liked the tension and the ending of the story (not the ending of the book). The ending of the book is bitter-sweet. First because it is always sad to end a trilogy or a series, so it is always bitter-sweet, but it gave me that feeling because it just ends and i literally threw my hands up in the air and said 'what the crap-sandwich'. I loved the book but i wanted to know more.
I am glad I have read this series and I recommend it to every girl who likes romance and a little fantasy.
I would give the series a 4/5 =]

I liked the book, don't get me wrong. It was good and amazingly written as always. I loved getting a bit more inside of Cole's head, and of course loved to see how Sam handled grace being a wolf as opposed to the other way around; but I felt like there was a lot left unsaid and thats what bothers me most. Mostly, was the dose Sam took enough to make him constantly change? or was it a one time deal? If isabelle is going back to California, what happens with her and cole? will the rest of the wolves be cured? or are they always going to be wolves? Will sam and Grace actually get married? I dunno i'm a curious person by nature and I'm just a little upset that there wasn't much in the way of an ending; thats why it lost a star for me.

really enjoyed the romance in the book. I felt like it was a lot of experimenting on the cure. With that out of the way I am very interested in seeing how this series ends.

While this series divides opinions, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters won me over, and the conclusion felt satisfying. While a few loose ends remain, the existence of "Sinner" makes them less bothersome.

All I can say is wow. I liked this book, it was put-downable...however it was a great story. I was a little disappointed at the end that we don't know what happens...but the more I thought about it, the more I liked that we knew what was going to happen but we did not know the results.

I also feel that i found a new respect and jealousy for the love that Grace and Sam had through the eyes of Cole. Cole St. Clair and his rebirth in this book and his learning and understanding of all that was around him made this book for me. I loved Cole as a character in this book and can see why Beck picked both of them.

I am glad that I stuck it out till the end of the series and i feel I will have more respect for the first two books if I get to read them again. The wolves of Mercy Falls will stay with me as i say good bye to their world.

I loved it, totally beautiful...
well, except for the end. That sucked, it was totally frustrating.
besides from that, it was awesome.
I totally ship Isabel and Cole. (and Sam and Grace, of course)
