Another win for picking a book up on a whim in Barnes & Noble! This was exactly what I hoped from this book. Our main character, Daphne, must help the gods of Olympus retrieve nine missing items to keep the Olympians from losing their powers and immortality. Artemis doesn't make her do the journey alone, so she's accompanied by the goddess's twin brother Apollo to find the missing items. Cue some of the most enjoyable sexual tension I've ever read in a fantasy. Apollo is a heartbreaker and narcissistic immortal being, and Daphne is an adopted daughter of a Spartan diplomat who so desperately wants to prove her worth to Sparta. Enter a bunch of mythology and stories that fit into that narrative. I just really enjoyed myself reading this, and I can't wait to see where it goes. (Took a star off for some slower bits in the middle and a bit of a rushed ending. I'm veeeeery picky about my endings.) If you're missing Percy Jackson, try this one out!!

Greek mythology, a female warrior, a story that takes place in ancient Greece, a quest with one of the Gods, magic, adventures and meeting several important names in the mythology through this journey? Well, say no more, it might as well have my name on it!
Filled with a magnificent cocktail of some of my most favourite things as a reader, it goes straight for my love for Greek mythology first and it does not disappoint. Like the author, I was always bugged by how women were represented in the old myths and wished for better.
Well, Claire Andrews answered those wishes in full!
So go on, open this book and take on a quest of the Gods to save the world! It'll be painful, there will be sacrifices and we all know how the Gods of Olympus can be but I promise you that, in the end, you would do it all over again...

This was a great story full of adventure, love to hate romance, and Greek mythology and folklore! Daphne is a strong main character. She is stubborn, proud and man does she have a temper! The book was fast-paced, which I found goes great with Daphne’s personality and the story line! Then there is Apollo I mean really who can pass up an arrogant sexy good with a human side! You can see and feel the dedication that the author put into the research and her characters! Claire M Andrews did a fabulous job in this reinterpretation of the classic Greek myth of Daphne and Apollo! I will watch for the second book to be released! Happy reading everyone!

Esse livro foi... ok. A autora possui uma escrita fluida, sem floreios ou passagens desnecessárias apenas para preencher espaço, e eu esperava que fosse ser uma das minhas leituras favoritas de 2021 desde que li a sinopse. Foi realmente uma pena estar enganada. Verdade seja dita, acho que eu apenas estava esperando muito desse livro devido aos reviews que li e fiquei com expectativas altas demais que não foram atingidas, o que resultou em uma inevitável decepção. Ademais, ainda que conte com 400 páginas, senti que tudo aconteceu extremamente rápido (especialmente no começo do livro), o que também foi um ponto negativo para mim. Apesar de tudo, fiquei intrigada o suficiente pela história e pelos personagens para querer ler o livro 2.
