Percy Jackson vibes, but the events at times felt anticlimactic. Still enjoyed it.

Claire Andrews doesn't stay true to the myths but, as she acknowledged in her author's note: "But that is the beauty of myths, stories that are ever changing--we can take from them what is most relevant to us personally, and revel in the fantasy. Students and scholars of ancient Greece will likely do much hand-wringing, some sighing, and possibly a bit of eye-rolling as they follow Daphne's journey. For that, though, I offer no apology except to say that history is often said to be written by the victors, usually men, and Daphne has won this particular battle."

Hear, hear!

Also, this book was just plain fun! It started off a bit slow, but then it picked up and I didn't want to put it down.

It did take me a little while to get into this book, but once I did it was worth it! It was an amazing retelling with a unique storyline. And Daphne and all her friends are amazing!!! The characters are diverse, and you really learn to have an empathy for all of them.
