3.5! The Flatshare was much more wholesome than I expected: balanced the right amount of cute and fluffy while taking on serious topics in this book
Spoileri.e.: emotional abuse and supporting a family member in prison

I didn't particularly like how Leon's chapters were written but didn't mind it all that much once Tiffy and Leon began to interact with each other more frequently. I loved their banter and their friendship before it segued to their strangers to friends to lovers romance arc.

The ending did drag a little bit but a very solid romance read.

My sister has been telling me that I’ve got to read The Flatshare. It does not disappoint! I love a love story in letters, how you can fall in love with someone just reading their words. Beth O’Leary has written a beautiful, heartwarming story of two people who are a little damaged but who figure out how to be the perfect match for each other. The compassion and protectiveness they each have for one another is the heart of this relationship, and I can’t get enough. This is one to re-read!

For me, this book went from a 2 to a 5 and back again so it’s only fair to rate it a 3. There were many aspects I liked, most of the characters, how unique the story was and the sweetness between Leon and Tiffy. However, I found this story insanely long, wayyyy too long. Also I honestly hated the Justin storyline, I understood it was necessary for the two mains and their journey but it sucked. At times it felt like a lot was going on, but we were always just stuck in repetitive thoughts. The way Leon was written drove me insane, that shorthand. In the end, the characters were lovely and supportive, Tiffy was a bit too quirky, I often find myself annoyed when the author purposely makes the main character quirky. I’m not sure if I totally felt their connection from the beginning but I liked it in the end even though it was SO predictable. I don’t understand all the hype around this book, I enjoyed The Switch so much more.

Bookclub book, my choice. I enjoyed it, but I have been in such a reading slump last couple of weeks I have not been able to enjoy anything really, have read barely anything in 3 weeks. Its been rough. So normally I would probably have rated this a 4 but now it feels like a 3 so, I dont know. Im not sure about anything while in a slump. :(
