Wholeheartedly agreed with the mental health messages in this. Preaching to the choir in my case - it reinforced practices I already have / try to have. I did struggle with the structure (or lack thereof!) - it felt like it was written for a flighty, easily distracted audience, and I prefer to commit a little more - the tiny chapters flitting before my eyes were, ironically, slightly stress-inducing! Also, as someone who works in tech, I found some of his fears and assertions to be overblown and would have liked to have seen him provide other visions of the future (and cite his sources more clearly).
I found it tricky to concentrate on with the short essay style chapters hopping from one to the next. I found the “notes” to be of one mind and I would disagree with a few points. I did enjoy the book and it was an interesting read. To be honest, I’d give it 3.5 stars, but since I can’t, 3 seems like a more genuine description of how I liked the book compared to 4.

I’ve struggled with anxiety for years, so I was able to relate so well to this book! It made me think more deeply about WHY it’s so easy to feel stressed-out in this world we live in. But it also helped me think about things a little differently, too! I definitely recommend this book to anyone who often feels anxious.

DNF. If I’m going to sit down and take the time to relax and enjoy a book, it has to speak to me. This book did not. It was a messy compilation of notes-which Matt warn us about. It just wasn’t for me!
I read about 30% then skimmed the rest of the book and saw that it was more of the same.
