Very comforting to not only read that someone else feels like me, but also to have those feelings articulated in a way my own mind hasn't worked out how to do yet. A beautiful book.

I feel like this is a self-help book for people with anxiety. And while a lot of his advice is practical and resonates with me, I feel like an anxiety disorder on the level he describes requires more than reading a book - like maybe a therapist and some medication? (Which I believe he has done.) Nevertheless, his advice is a simple recipe for living life more simply, and with less distractions. Sort of.

Great for an end-of-the-world worrywart like myself.
I am reading chapters of this to my family because there is a lot of thoughtful lessons and reminders to ponder and discuss. Like, how to keep our humanity, not to compare ourselves to others, etc., etc.

While there are some helpful gems in this book, the book actually made me feel more anxious because it's so full of "do this," "don't do that" injunctions. Do not recommend if you're already feeling anxious.
