The hype is real with this one! I’ve read it twice since I started it back in July and can honestly say I wanted to share nearly every page with someone- it was that relatable. I hadn’t enjoyed Haig’s fiction that much but the way he writes about what’s really going on in the world today with mental health is spot on!

It really just was a compilation of notes. It felt messy and lacked structure and was made up mostly of truisms and generic lists. I did find one chapter regarding a panic attack the author had interesting. Not worth the read, though.

This might have made me more anxious, but it was a lot of good information and because I liked his voice and style, I'm adding all of Haig's books to my TBR list.

Matt Haig writes beautifully written books, I love being able to literally look into his head while reading these books. Matt says “the way back to yourself is through reading. The more you read, the more you will know how to find your way through those difficult times.” And he is right about that! His books totally helped me navigate one of these difficult times and I’m forever grateful.

DID NOT FINISH

DNF at 77%. Not going to waste my time anymore.

I loved this book, including its 5x7 size, which makes it feel comfortable in my hands. I have to believe this was intentional since the book's purpose is to lead the reader to a "more fulfilling, calm, and peaceful way of life." There is something in this book for everyone. We all feel anxious at one time or another. I like that the chapters are short and easy to read. Each chapter allows the reader to stop and think about themselves in relation to the stories and information shared by the author, including quotes from several classic and contemporary authors that help to make his point. My only regret is that I didn't use sticky notes to mark the parts I wanted to remember and share. Now I will reread it with sticky notes in hand!
