The last 50% of this book was truly a masterclass in writing. The prose and parallels thrown at the end I was in awe. I wish I could have read this book without the beginning bits. Those were a bit of a slog so much that I almost dnf’ed at 40%. But glad I gave it one more chance to power through. Such a romantic book that asks the question of what would you give up to save the one you love. The answer for Asar and Miche: everything.

Wow...what a journey this book took me through.

I don’t really know where to start...
Some part of me wants to give it a 5⭐️ after this ending, it was just so beautiful.
But the shadow of the first book still looms in my mind and sadly impackts my decision, and takes it down to a 4,5 ⭐️. Maybe this will change after a couple of days, when I've had time to process, or maybe it will remain.

This was such a beautiful love story between Asar and Mische. And to me, it felt very unique with Misches whole life/death situation. And it brought an uncertainty to the story, of how it would end and I found it very interesting and intriguing.
Refreshing.

I was a bit tired with the mention of her sister so frekvently, but in the end it was so beautiful.
This book really went through so much emotions and heartbreak, and in the end it all just feels so perfect.

I went in to this book with a bit of a shaky, but hopefull expectation since I didn’t vibe with the first in this duology, at all. Only gave it a 3,5 and most of that rating is because I really like her writing 🫣
So it took a litte while before I got in to it, but I soon realized that this sequel was soooooooo much better, just like I hoped!

We got to know Asar so much more in this one, and really got to the core of Mische and I don’t know how Carissa does it, but now there is another couple fighting for first place and I can hounestly say that it's a tie at the moment.
All her couples are perfect in their own way and I can’t decide.

That was one of the things I loved the most with this book too, that everyone got together and we got to meet them again 😍 Sylina and Atrius, Raihn and Oraya, Vale and Lilith.
And even Septimus and Vincent! It just warmed my heart!

And now I can't wait for the next duology and read about Septimus and learn his story, and what I hope, and believe will be his take down of Nyaxia, to finally get the Bloodborns revenge!
