The Boy I Hate

Good story

I enjoyed this book a lot. Would have liked to see them connecting more. However that what happens with this troupe.

Would read this author again.

I didn't like this.

The story isn't great and most of the plot just enraged me!

The MC is worst - who leaves their BF's wedding because they're sad about about a boy...11

Oh my goodness. The book unexpectedly gave me all the feels. I could have done without the conflict. But I loved everything else about this book so so much.

Feelings....many feelings. Samantha was the one of the weakest "pick-me" girls I ever had the displeasure of reading. She literally stayed with her friend romantically for 6 years when she had no feelings for him - just because she wanted safety and stability. And that's fine but she took it to such an extreme that was only going to lead to a waste of time like why not just stay single?? She had to choose her friend's proposition just because she kissed a guy and that said guy was flirting with a girl the next day (just to make Samantha jealous, not because he was into that girl). Honestly, I praise myself for being able to get through that garbage. I only finally started enjoying the book after she finally broke up with her boyfriend (the friend who was high-key toxic always wanting perfection from her and knowing she doesn't feel the same about him like sir, just stay single).

After page 197 is when the book picked up for me and I enjoyed the little mundane moments and the "forbidden" romance between her and Tristan (the guy who took her first kiss 6 years before). If it weren't for those small things, I would've given the book a 1 because it's not possible to give 0 stars. Those small moments quickly died after Steven (the toxic friend/boyfriend) showed up to the wedding and I kept reading only because I was so close to the ending. Also can we talk about those flashbacks in the beginning?? Like I was getting whiplash from how many and how frequent these snippets of flashbacks appeared. Honestly, there was more flashback than actual story for like a good half of the book. It felt like the author was giving up everything from the get-go. Literally, not even a whole chapter dedicated to flashbacks. I'd be reading about the present day and like the next page reading a flashback. Please, if you're going to do flashbacks, separate them by chapters instead of mixing it into the present day and all in the beginning of the book. There's no rush, you can space out the flashbacks over the length of the story too.

Juli, if you decide to read this book in the future for God knows why, skip to page 197 and stop at the page break on 241. Otherwise, you're going to regret it.

This book is confusing. So confusing that it contains no story line.

Why samantha hates tristan? Tristan done nothing wrong. He is not mean. For me tristan does not have significant character. What happen between tristan and samantha is misunderstanding.

Why samantha wants to keep her relationship with tristan a secret? Why samantha worries so much reene witll hate her? The fact reene is the one who nudge samantha to hook up with tristan.

Those questions not answered on the book.

But the writing is good. The wording is good. This author have promise but lack of story line.

I liked the sexual tension between Sam and Tristan and the road trip aspect of the book. However, this story stretched the line between cheating and not cheating to a point that made me a little uncomfortable. Also, I would've liked to see more of Renee and her fiancé and the final conflict could've been resolved more in depth instead of in one conversation.

I love a great story

And this was a great story. So many people try to write an opposites attract/ he's a jackass love story and they fail so hard. But this story got it all right. It was really well written, I was rooting for them to get together and although Tristan had his moments of being a jerk, he also knew when to be amazing and it always felt right and authentic in the story. I couldn't put this down!

However the word memorized was used instead of mesmerized and it kind of made me lol.

3rd book of the day. Had promise, but it was very poorly edited. Decent love story, but unrealistic and moved too fast.
