I’m definitely interested in reading more books by Finlay now! This was good. A few things kinda bugged me (lots of red herrings and plot points that didn’t do anything) but overall I liked the format and writing. I did predict whodunnit. I’ll be especially curious to read more books featuring Keller because I think she’s in a few other books of his. A good time!

A quick, entertaining read. I enjoyed seeing Agent Keller again and I liked the short chapters. I liked that we got so many characters to shift POVs from often, but I do wish there was some more character development. Most of the characters also weren't very sympathetic, so it was a little hard to care what happened to them. However, it was still an enjoyable read, if not my favorite by this author.

I love when a thriller has a compact timeline and this one takes place over one weekend. It was good having Agent Keller back from Finley’s other novels - I really do love a competent FBI agent! It took me a second to get into it with all the characters because there are many but once I did it was easy to keep track of who everyone was and how they were connected. The ending was neatly tied up, if not a bit predictable.

🎓 five freshman students ghost their parents during santa clara u’s parents weekend. cue panic, tiktoks, and law enforcement—because earlier that week, a missing student was found dead. Y I K E S.
📚 the book kicks off with the five (RIP to their group chat) and then switches gears to the students’ parents, each one shady enough to land themselves a Netflix doc. and of course, sarah’s chapters are peak 👑
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 the parental drama? juicy. the mystery? not as twisty as i’d hoped. the YA student chapters? a bit teen-dramatic for my taste. but still, it’s alex finlay, and i was turning pages like i was getting paid for it.
