Great opening and interesting idea. I'll read this series someday.

Read after the 1st book

I really enjoyed Book 1 in Jodi Taylor's Chronicles of St. Mary's series. This short story should be read after that first book. The swans, the smell of cabbage and the demise of the clock tower are all here at the beginning where all things start unless you are a St. Mary's historian and then the beginning could be anywhere. Read and enjoy.

This series is so addictive! I’ve loved every book so far and now I’m catching up on the stories in between the main novels. Fabulous!

Excellent prequel to the series. A great story about Dr Bairstow and how St Mary's was set up and I found it good to read out of sequence with the the series too as it gave more life to the characters he recruits.
