Classic Fear Street!!! I don't know why people are rating it low. I grew up reading RL Stine and I have almost all, if not all, of his Fear Street books. Even the special editions ones that weren't available in the Philippines. So I know the feel and the flow of the Fear Street books and Party Games definitely has it.

It's not supposed to be deep, it's not supposed to be mind boggling. It's just supposed to keep you on the edge of your seat, wanting to reach the final chapter to know how it's all going to end. And I love how RL Stine still did the cliffhanger thing at the end of each chapter. Definitely classic Fear Street!

I haven’t read goosebumps so i came into this book with no expatiation. It was such a disappointment. It went from a deadly mystery to a boring kidnapping. The plot twist really ruined the book for me then after that there was no more tension. I wasn’t scared for the characters and i was rooting for them to die to end this book.

The characters were very boring. Erik i found really annoying. Brandon i really disliked after the plot twist. Which is bad because with the kidnapping i think we were supposed to like him and root for him to survive.

(Spoiler)

I was before going to give the book two stars but the book decided to pull a ‘this was all fake’ twist. It turns out that this was all just a sick game by Brendan including the dead animals in everyone’s bed. He snuck into everyone’s house and put a dead animal in there bed to make them in the right mood for the game. After that Rachel decides to date Brendan at the end.

This is a horror book and all the deaths were all fake out deaths. No one died. I guess that could work but the book keeps on trying to make us believe that they characters are going to die. The kidnapers don’t even kill anyone. Mack even saids that they are not killers. Why should i be scared of them if they keep talking about killing people and it won’t happen.

Jeez I understand trauma bonding but maybe Rachael should consider therapy and not dating Brendan after all this.

Not as creepy as I was hopping for. It started out swell but then the swelling went down.
This was part of my October reads list. I love my Goosebumps collection, maybe the Fear Street books just aren't my thing.
