I am a huge fan of Steve-O and will remain as such. An honest deep dive into his life outside of Jackass.
A very untraditional and rated R “self-help book”.
As someone that used to enjoy watching Jackass but definitely wondered what made people do crazy stuff like that… it was interesting to listen to some backstory of Steve-o’s life and what led him there. I wasn’t aware he had another memoir but I lost interest in this title on audio around 60% when it became repetitive.

I thought this book was just going to be some entertainment. I didn't expect there to be any sort of insight in it. I was wrong. There were little tidbits throughout.
Sometimes you’re going to feel like shit.” He let that all sink in and then he continued. “The one thing you can always do when you’re feeling bad that will make you feel better is to conduct yourself like a gentleman. If you act like a decent human being, you’re giving yourself something to feel good about. You can be proud that no matter how bad you feel, you tried to do the right thing. That’s not nothing.”

I personally haven’t ever seen any of the Jackass movies until this year. I’m 26. I’ve always known of them and who Steve-O was but not much about him. I watched the newest Jackass and I thought I wouldn’t like it, but then I ended up watching the other ones. Anyways, I then seen this book available on NetGalley for review. I actually really really like this book. I love how this isn’t like a typical self help/motivational book. This was a realistic self story of growth and transformation. I actually liked this so much that I ordered a signed copy and also purchased his other book. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Even people who maybe don’t actually know a lot about Steve-O!

I can't help but like Steve-O. He's so over the op but you recognize that it's unusually genuine.
So how can he NOT have some solid life advice to offer? He has a lot to say about adapting to aging. When you hit your 50's your body just tries to keep up with your brain. "Maybe the only thing worse than your body failing you is the knowledge that your body is failing you." Everyone will relate at some point. It's worth a read.
