I was expecting this book to be a crescendo of the trilogy, but it wasn't. I feel like the author was trying to tie all the loose threads but lost a few. What about Amat's best friends from the hollow? And Bobo's mom went to the hospital, so how come Hannah hasn't seen her or heard of her? So many other questions. I honestly didn't like the whole mirroring of Maya's situation vs Ruth's: felt like a bit of a stretch. Anyway, great work on the author's side despite these remarks.

Fredrik Backman's The Winners is the conclusion to the Beartown/Hed trilogy---an emotional rollercoaster read. One must read this trilogy in order to enjoy the full personalities of the characters and the events that shaped them. The deep dive into the motivations that culminate in the explosive ending is just what I expect from Backman. Be prepared to laugh, cry, and feel enraged over the events and emotions that flow through this book. An amazing read that will be with me for a long while.
