I liked this a lot. It reads like a fairy tale. Illustrations are gorgeous in the black and white hardcover edition I got.

A lovely elementary-level short story in the always pleasant voice of Neil Gaiman, concerning the encounter of a young boy with 3 Norse deities trapped in the bodies of animals. Would have loved it as a kid.

Absolutely wonderful little story. It blends Norse mythology with children's adventure beautifully. It almost fits right in with actual Norse mythology. It seems like a classic story. It's just so effortless and pleasant. Terrific for kids.
