New favorite book. Wanted to restart reading it immediately after finishing it. This was also the book that made me sob the absolute hardest.

I do not think Colleen Hoover knows how to write a slow burn romance. I think most of Colleen’s writing is problematic in some form or fashion, but with that being said, I do think this is one of my more preferred books of hers.

1. There is next to no world building here.
2. There are no detailed descriptions of the characters.
3. The pace of the book is all over the place.
4. What kind of name is Diem?
5. I wish Kenna hadn’t fallen for Scotty’s best friend. And if Colleen was stuck on that plot, I wish it would’ve been more of a slow burn and less lustful.
6. I wish that Kenna would’ve left town and the book wouldn’t have gotten a happy ending. It would’ve been more realistic and a better storyline.
7. I wish Colleen hadn’t hinted at Kenna and Ledger having a baby in the chapter where Kenna meets Diem for the first time.

I was not expecting to cry, but this book made me cry!

In this book Colleen clearly wanted to spread the message that people are not always what they seem and of course she did amazing. The amount of honesty and heart wrenching reality that is in this book is incredible. The story learned me to not judge people from the outside no matter their past and Ledger is the perfect example for that. I love all the characters so much and I could see myself agreeing to both of their stories.Which I think was Colleens intention as well. This story will stick with me forever and will help me so much in the future.
