The guy MC was an ass but not in a loveable character kind of way. And the female MC was just annoying.

I’m usually the person who reads reviews saying “the mc is so toxic blah blah blah” and thinks THIS IS THE BOOK FOR ME. And usually I’m not wrong. Usually, I love morally grey characters and dark romances and even nc/dc scenes.

I’ve found my limit. I knew going in that Grey wasn’t a good guy and that’s okay. But he was downright abusive. There was one point I really felt like he was actually going to choke her to death and it was not in a sexy way.

It wasn’t just that - it was the verbal and psychological abuse to the extent where I don’t know how any self-respecting woman could end up with that guy after how bad he embarrassed her. The ending did not make any of it worth it to me. The fmc was so stupid and essentially suicidal. Grey really had nothing that made him worth sticking around for anyway which made it even worse.

I’ve read other reviews that say she learned to stand up for herself and was strong and I’m wondering if we were reading a different book.

When they finally get their “happy ending,” it’s super out of nowhere with no real transition between the he wants to kill her to the he’s a simp for her. He just suddenly isn’t a piece of crap, leaving me totally unsatisfied.

I forced myself through it because I heard so many good reviews but I truly wish I would’ve trusted my gut instinct at 13% and abandoned it.

This story has some of my favorite tropes in it. For example, Bully, Enemies to Lovers, plus it's a Hockey Romance. I am obsessed with the dark and possibly disturbing side of this book. This one will hold many triggers for some readers but not this gal. I freaking loved it. I didn't know I need Greyson Devereux in my life until now. He's compulsive and possessive, so, of course, jealousy was the most logical thing for Grey. Let's just talk about Violet and the need Grey has for her. I'm super excited about Devious Obsession! Read this one today and make sure you're ready for the next one as well.

Holy hot....first thing if you can't get into Bully Romance or anything to do with bullies you will not like this one plain and simple. This is a dark sports romance and there is some pretty WTF things in this book. I highly suggest reading trigger warnings if you decide to read this one.

This is the story of Grey and Violet. These two have so much anger and animosity between them that it actually oozes off the pages of the book. He is a hockey player and the son of a senator. She knows his secrets and he is bound and determined that she does not let those secrets spill if it is the last thing he ever does. These two have some serious chemistry between them, the hate they have for each other jumps off the page, you can literally feel it. The passion between them is just a raging inferno. There is a darkness in Violet that only Grey can pull out of her and it is in that darkness that the best moments happen.

This book slapped me right in the face. It was full of twists and turns that kept me hooked since the beginning, I could not lay it down. I questioned myself several time on what I just read. I love when you are left stunned and speechless at the end of a book and you know that you have read something amazing. I cannot wait to read the next one in this series.

Recommend if you like dark romances, bully romance, enemies to lovers.
