Picked this up to see why booktwt was talking about this and… I’m just trying to give it 0 stars… man was this book fucking awful. Side note, the “dub-con” and “cnc” tags do not apply to actual rape and masking it as if the victim “enjoyed it” is not dark romance.

The mmc was god awful. The chemistry was non existent and didn’t makeup for the red flags. I only finished it because of the narrator.

This is Devil’s Night by Penelope Douglas mixed with a very bad Haunting Adeline ordered on Wish.
I read this because it was recommended to me as a dark ice hockey romance, I was thoroughly disappointed. This book is every kink(blood, knive, breeding, breath, dubious consent) mixed together with every trope leaving the story mudded.

This was not a dark romance it was just straight up rape for over the first half of the book, it made me sick. But I stuck with it anyway to see where the plot lead and the plot lead no where. There were so many loose ends that never got tied up and the big “plot twist” was god awful it felt like this book had no dimension to it and nothing really got closure. Would not recommend.

This is definitely the darkest book I’ve ever read. I’m not crazy about the tropes, but I found the plot interesting and I grew to love both characters. I love the how obsessed he was with her. I also love how he told her I love you first!

This is the first time that I’m giving a book, a five star, even though if push came to shove, it will be a 4.75!
I love how toxic Greyson is! He’s the type of H that I love reading about, and will reread all day every day!
And the only problem I have with the plot of the story is the two kind of potholes that would never bring up again. Well one just ended without showing us. They just told us that the person went away.
Like this was a huge part of the second half of the story and age is tied up in the last few pages without showing us what happened and I felt very disappointed in that.
Another one was a plot hole that was never brought up, but is was a main factor in why Knox was going after her best friend. The bet always a major feature out the first half in a little bit of the second half yet at least in the story, it was never brought other peoples attentions. Like the girls never found out about it which seems kind of crazy that would’ve just brought more drama.
Other than those two things definitely loved loved the story. It was really good, the spice great, how toxic Greyson was is just superb.
Will definitely read it and I cannot wait to continue the series, but I’m waiting for bookish buys special edition before I read it!!

This story has some of my favorite tropes in it. For example, Bully, Enemies to Lovers, plus it's a Hockey Romance. I am obsessed with the dark and possibly disturbing side of this book. This one will hold many triggers for some readers but not this gal. I freaking loved it. I didn't know I need Greyson Devereux in my life until now. He's compulsive and possessive, so, of course, jealousy was the most logical thing for Grey. Let's just talk about Violet and the need Grey has for her. I'm super excited about Devious Obsession! Read this one today and make sure you're ready for the next one as well.
