3.5 stars. This was a cute read with lovely characters but it was a bit slow for me and took me awhile to read it.
This was a sweet, light and endearing read. When Harry Met Sally is one of my all time favorite movies, so I really enjoyed this reimaging. It's a dual POV with a slow burn. I loved watching Wes and Hailey's friendship build into something more. I apprecriated that the evolution to "more" felt authentic and wasn't rushed. The supporting cast of characters were charming and added another layer to the story. Light steam/closed door romance.
This is one of those books where I appreciate the story and the effort of the writer but I just didn't fall in love. There were a lot of weird time jumps that threw me off and then the flow of the story just wouldn't let me get super invested. I kept reading because there were enough moments when my heart swelled or I made ridiculous facial expressions based on things the characters said or did.
FYI - This is totally closed door. There's no spice at all.

This story is told in third person dual point of view from Hailey and Wes. It is the 3rd book in a series and while you can read it stand-alone, the characters from the first two books are present as friends and siblings to both characters and you probably will enjoy it more if you have read the prior stories.
Hailey has just opened a new small business, a salad shop, and I enjoyed watching her navigate the learning curve though she was a little stubborn at times about accepting help and she often took on too much by herself just to prove that she could. Wes is the oldest and last of 3 brothers that have moved to California to get out from under their father’s thumb both personally and in business though it doesn’t stop his trying to control them from New York. Both she and Wes had complicated family issues that I found both enjoyable and frustrating as they both put up obstacles in their relationship as a result.
This is the type of friends-to-lovers story that I typically enjoy, where we get the meet cute, the gradual build of friendship then the choice to make it more. However, it suffered a little on the timeline for me, jumping months between chapters to indicate the passage of time while I felt like the relationship could have been built on page without the jumps. I thought that Hailey had a lot of character development over the course of the story going from doing everything by herself to accepting help from friends who had good intentions while Wes seemed to jump through hoops then run into road blocks and grovel without really understanding why he was apologizing which only meant that it happened again. I was also not satisfied with the way the Jansen brothers family issues were left at the end.

This was the first book I have read by Sophie Sullivan and I loved it so much! I seriously could not put this book down and read it every chance that I got, finishing it in only two days.
This book was the last in a series, but it can be read as a stand alone. At no point in reading book number three of the Jansen brothers was I confused because I had not read books one and two yet.
This is your typical friends to lovers trope. I loved the dynamic between Hailey and Wes. Hailey is an independent small business owner starting over in a new town. I felt that she was a great representation for strong women. Although Wes is filthy rich, he does not act overly arrogant and he is extremely giving. He was likeable MOST of the time.
Of course the friendship/relationship had its ups and downs, but what book does not?

I was a bit disappointed with this romance. Characters are rather bland with lots of annoying anecdotes and pointless conversations. There is barely a flame of explosive chemistry. Just not engaging enough.

First of all I would like to say I have not read the first two books of this series and read this as a standalone. I was so happy to get to review this book but about halfway through I lost my interest. I pushed myself to finish this book and I honestly did not enjoy it as much as I wanted to. This is definitely a slow burn but without that burning passion at the end. The beginning was the best part. It was cute and funny but it quickly died out and became boring for me. The biggest part of the plot was solved within seconds... Unfortunately this didn't live up to my expectations.
