Thank you for St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for this eARC. I really appreciated the opportunity to read this!
If you like sweet, clean romances and friends to lovers and this sounds good to you PLEASE read it. As always, reading is subjective and if I dislike something it doesn't mean you will. You may love it!
Things I Liked:
- The secondary characters were really sweet and funny. They added a lot to the story and I was glad they were there!
- When Wes says, "Unless you want that hand shoved down your throat, I suggest you don't touch her again."
- There were some cute moments that made me smile.
Things I Didn't Like:
- The idea was cute, but I wasn't inspired or moved by the story. The business aspect was too overwhelming and I just didn't care about it.
-Wes and Hailey. I didn't love them or feel the chemistry. I as continuously frustrated with their pride, stubbornness, petty arguments, and miscommunication. They made me scream (in not a good way) multiple times.
-This book made me realize "clean romance" isn't for me. YA is one thing, but this was adult with fade to black and it made me sad.
Overall, I found this book to be stiff, unmemorable and just not for me. They can't all be though!

This book was a solidly fine, enjoyable read. I wouldn't say that it rocked my world or was my favorite romance that I've read recently, but I did enjoy it and would recommend it to others! The love story between the main characters was enjoyable, and I thought that the supporting characters were cute and added value, though they were underdeveloped in a way that left some plot holes.
The thing that annoyed me the most isthat it didn't feel believable that Wes was so anti-love. It felt like he made this grand declaration at the beginning that love is bad and doesn't lead to people making rational decisions, but that there's really nothing behind that except for his parent's divorce. It doesn't feel like the author went into this enough to make it believable that he would be this anti-love, even with all the positive examples of love around him. It is also a pet peeve of mine when characters are so anti-love because they think it will make them irrational, and then while "resisting" love they fall into all the traps they're trying to avoid. SO, all of that made it less enjoyable to me.

Despite a terrible first meeting, person today, Wes Jansen and Haley Sharp have a beautiful friendship. Wes never intends to marry, having seen the hardships of his parents' marriage, while Haley has recently had a bad breakup, so the friendship suits them just fine. As Haley grows her business, Wes works alongside his brother as they find independence from their father. and provides encouragement and they are. But sometimes, feelings get away from you and not even their guide to being just friends will help.
Describing this book, it seems a lot like the first two, but the reality is they are all such different stories with the same delightful, storytelling style and character development. Haley is such a fun character and so determined to make her way in the world and prove others wrong. Wes is the typical eldest child who tries to protect and care for his younger brothers. They both have a lot to learn and areas to grow but they do grow and develop a very lovely relationship. So many of the characters from the first two books are in this one, which I love - it made me feel like I am a part of their community of friends.
I really enjoyed these books! They were swoony and sweet without being super spicy. I also enjoyed the fact that the love interests actually got to know one another before immediately jumping into a relationship, which meant that their relationships were truly built on something of substance rather than simply physical attraction or boredom. I will absolutely read Sophie Sullivan again!
