This series hits all the right notes for me. The writing style and layout of the book just really clicks with my brain and makes it easy and enjoyable to read. The plot and story development are really good, even in the quieter parts of the book I’m still engaged and eager to keep reading like in the high action sections. I haven’t been able to anticipate every twist and turn in the plot either like is typical with some YAs. Looking forward to the next!
Oof the story lost so much steam in this book. There was so much they could have done with Magnia and they basically just made it Earth and the Imago humans, with a tiny dash of Pandora. I was pretty bored until the very end. Hope they pick up the pace in the next one…
As a rule, I don't like middle books. You don't get the pleasure of getting to know the characters or the satisfaction of finding out the conclusion to the story. But, Nyxia Unleashed is an adventure in itself. As Nyxia (book 1) concluded, our characters were leaving Babel for the great unknown of Eden. As Nyxia Unleashed begins, we find our characters grounded on an alien planet. Everything here is dangerous. No one is quite who they seem to be. Exploring Eden with the Genesis crew is exciting. I can't wait to read the next (and final?) installment of the series. We would be very lucky to see this one brought to the big screen, too. As fun as it is to read Reintgen's descriptions, I am dying to see what the Adamites/Imago look like.
*As an aside, I'm finding that a lot of these names (Requin, Imago, etc.) are actual, not invented, words. I'm wondering if they somehow relate to the story in a meaningful way. Especially since Reintgen has already used names with meaningful context in the story (Eden, Babel, Genesis). Hm.

Starts off a little slow compared with the first book but the twists and turns at the end more than made up for it. The story is a bit daft in places but it's trashy fun not serious sci-fi, and I enjoyed it.
So many things could be written about Nyxia Unleashed! I am always afraid for the next installment to come along after I fall in love with the first book in a series. I couldn’t wait for Nyxia Unleashed to be released after reading Nyxia last year. I was on pins and needles with anticipation. As I said though, I am always worried that the next book will let me down, that the storyline will get confusing, or that the plot gets dropped and/or twisted in a direction that doesn’t feel right… Nyxia Unleashed didn’t let me down. It was, in my honest opinion, even better than the first book!! It ended with me wanting more, which is always a good sign, AND, I have no idea what direction the last book will take to finish off this trilogy. It’s a mystery as to what Mr. Reintgen has in store for the last part of the “Triad”. Again, I am left waiting, that’s a good thing!
With a book like the Nyxia Triad, you never want to give away any of the good stuff, but I can’t wait until whichever one of you, my dear readers, hits the pages where the Imago introduces Genesis to the different rings in their world. It was a most excellent adventure. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I really, truly, couldn’t put this book down.
Just a word about the imprint for this series, it may be published under the Young Readers/ Children’s section of Crown Books (an Imprint of Random House Publishing), however, it is not too young that it doesn’t interest all age groups. I am not sure that it’s actually for super young readers as it does have a teen feel to it. Like any other Sci-Fi/ Fantasy book, I would suggest reading it to your kids, then you can discuss some of the different themes in the book.
More about the book: The writing is descriptive and inventive, although there were a few times I thought I was reading a scene from Star Wars, just from a few of the lines though. That’s not a bad thing people, I am a Star Wars fanatic! Mr. Reintgen keeps the reader in suspense as to what the next scene will bring. Speaking of scenes, I truly believe, and I’ve said this before in my Nyxia review, that this series will be turned into one or more episodes of a movie. Don’t take my word for it though, you really do need to read Nyxia Unleashed if you liked Nyxia, and decide for yourself if you think it will be a near future movie, Fathom?
I gave this book my highest rating of 5 stars!! It is just out of this world. :)
I received this book from Random House Children’s via NetGalley in lieu of my honest opinion. This is that opinion.

I have been pleasantly surprised with this series, and I'm eager to read the end. I
3.5 ⭐️
Disappointed that I didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as the first in the series (which I devoured in nearly a sitting!) Not sure what it was about it but I just didn't connect to the story as much. Perhaps it just suffers from "middle book in a trilogy" syndrome? Or maybe it was just me! Still anxiously awaiting the next, though.

Terribly boring, reading this book was like doing a chore... it was exhausting
This arc was provided to me for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
4.5 Stars.
I was lucky to get approved for Nyxia last year so when the sequel became available on Netgalley, I immediately requested it. And I have to say I am not disappointed. Scott Reintgen knows how to tell a story and how to tell it well.
Nyxia Unleashed picks up immediately where Nyxia left off. Which was the best option because Nyxia ended pretty crazy. Bable has officially placed Emmett and the rest of the crew on the planet, Magnia and now must begin mining the substance Nyxia. Do this and their families will be taken care of, but is Bable being completely honest with the crew? The planet and its inhabitants are a mystery, but for how much longer?
There wasn’t a part of this book that I didn’t love. The storyline, the romance, the action, and the diversity!!! Say it louder for the people in the back. This book has it all. It’s so nice to see a good male MC being written and not have him be a jerk. And the female lead, Morning who is strong, smart, and everything I aspire to be!!! But the rest of the crew is an array of different kind of characters and it is so refreshing to see.
But can we talk about that ending? I need book 3 now, I don’t want to wait anymore. But I can admit now, I will be stalking NetGalley now waiting for the moment I can request book 3. If you love strong diverse characters, alien, action, and epic secrets than please check this series out. You will not be disappointed.
