No prostě paráda. Moc jsem si to užila. Četlo se to samo. Nemůžu se dočkat posledního dílu. Jsem moc zvědavá, jak to celé nakonec dopadne.
This serie keeps surprising me, this was even better than the frist book. A lot of action, twists, revelations, secrets, the detailed world of the planet. Amazing. I enjoyed it so much. It was an easy and fast-paced read. I cannot wait to read the last book. I am so excited to see how this all ends.

i've said it before and i'll say it again, scott reintgen NEEDS MORE HYPE THESE BOOKS ARE FANTASTIC !!!! i have too many thoughts and don't even know where to start, so just trust me when i say you HAVE to read this if you're a sci-fi fan
not only that, the narrators are also top notch, i've read both books exclusively on audio and i'll probably do it for the last book 10/10 recommend

Enjoying this series, in spite of some flaws. These stories feel more realistic because of characters dying off, even though that means we don't get to see the development of some relationships.
All the amazingness from Nyxia but kicked up a notch!
The following review contains NO spoilers for Nyxia 1 or 2.

Our story starts exactly how I was hoping it would; right where we left off at the end of book one.
Synopsis: Emmett and the rest of Genesis Teams 11 and 12 have completed their long space journey and are about to head down to the planet commonly known as Eden to complete their Nyxia mining mission. Shortly after landing they meet the local Babel representatives as well as alien emissaries who help the teams acclimate and teach them about life and culture on Eden. The more Emmett and his friends learn the more they start to question everything they’ve heard from both sides. Who can they trust? Why were they really sent to Eden? Will they ever make it back home?
I was hooked right away! I love Reintgen's powerful, straight forward writing style. I felt submerged in the story which is the best way to read. This book has a slightly more serious tone than the previous one but it was balanced out with humor, romance, team camaraderie and funny banter. So the content never felt too heavy or too dark; it was really effortless to read.
There’s a large cast of diverse characters but each person’s voice feels authentic and full of personality, it’s easy to tell which person is talking without needing to read their name. Since this book wasn’t about a competition everyone is a little more open and we get to know our cast a little deeper in this installment. Emmett is still one of my favorite main characters. At this point in the Triad, I don’t know if Emmett even realizes how much he has grown since the start of book one. He’s become a great leader and an even better team player which is a skill many overlook. I think he’s a character that will feel familiar and instantly likeable to most readers. The beat boxing scene and picking his dinner partner in Circle 6 were some of my favorite scenes. He’s humble and fearlessly compassionate which made a lot of his interactions with the “Adamites” especially powerful.
There was never a dull moment. I was constantly trying to guess what was going to happen next, and each time I’d think we’re going to get an answer to a question… we’d get another question. It was SO much fun to read. I really enjoyed and appreciated being “kept on my toes” all the way until the end. There are a lot of things happening at once in this one so we get a few bonus side-character POV’s at the beginning of each section. They added a nice layer of depth to the story. I wouldn’t have minded a few more of them actually. We deal with a wide variety of issues that bring up some great discussion topics and powerful moral questions. (Such as colonization, corporal punishment, structural racism, etc.)
As far as world building goes, I mentioned in my last review that I was expecting so much more world building in the book to come and Scott must have took note because he BROUGHT IT. (Just let me pretend like I’m that important. LOL) My fantasy loving heart was so pleased. The new culture and food descriptions were especially rich and easy to picture in my mind. I finished this book with a fairly solid image of exactly what this world looks and feels like. Which was exactly what I was looking for.
Overall I’m super happy with this, I can’t even think of any reasons to dock points at the moment. So I’m going to give it all the stars! I loved the action packed, cliff hanger ending and I’m ready for more!
Audiobook notes: I’m really glad I choose to hold out on reading this a little longer so I could get the audiobook because the narrator really makes Emmett come to life. He has this voice that when he talks –I just wanna listen. Highly recommend giving the audio a try!
I recommend The Nyxia Triad for:
- People looking to try scifi for the first time (as well as long time fans)
- Fans of The 100, Enders Game, Unearthed, Dark Matter etc.
- Diverse reads
- Great audiobooks

I had a really great time with Book 2 in the Nyxia Triad. Was it as good as the first well no..., but was it really an entirely different experience yes so overall it was a good read. I appreciate that we pick up from literally the minute that we left off. There is no time jump or even a small gap, which really keeps the pacing and story consistency alive.
Really all in all if the first book plays out the events of a year in space than book 2 is like their teams first 3 weeks on planet which makes the pacing great.
I found the first book to be more narratively engaging though. This book is worldbuilding/set up for the final book which while fun is not as interesting as book once since some of the events are so obviously set up for later.
Overall a good time though.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I NEED THE THIRD ONE!!!!!!
They’ll regret how sharp we are now that we’re aimed at them.
Babel has created a sword. Taken a diverse group of teenagers from the slums of earth, brushed them off, promised them the stars, made them sharp, and sent them to a strange planet. The path through space has been marked by broken promises, dark secrets, and unforgivable crimes that Earth may never know about if the Genesis crew doesn't make it back to tell them. The first book ended traumatically in a cliff-hanger (if you've read it, you'll understand) and we're led to this - the teenagers, Genesis, walking into the new world, their Eden.
But Eden is already occupied, and there's a price for mining Babel's precious nyxia to send it back to Earth. The Genesis crew must walk among the natives (called the Imago) and teach them about Earth. A simple enough task, if they can survive the dangers of Eden. But it doesn't take long to realize that the Imago might be their ideal allies. They have troubles of their own, and they need the Genesis crew to save them.
The first book in this triad reminded me of [b:Divergent|13335037|Divergent (Divergent, #1)|Veronica Roth|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1328559506s/13335037.jpg|13155899], [b:The Hunger Games|2767052|The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)|Suzanne Collins|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1447303603s/2767052.jpg|2792775], and [b:The Maze Runner|6186357|The Maze Runner (The Maze Runner, #1)|James Dashner|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1375596592s/6186357.jpg|6366642]. This one was no different. Reintgen doesn't shy away from showing the dark sides of his characters. He doesn't paint them as perfection 100% of the time. This is a gritty story that deals heavily with ethics, told with building pace, using a diverse cast of characters. The writing is just beautiful. It's definitely worth the start, especially if you liked the books I referenced above and want something intense and intriguing to read.
Parents should note: this is better-suited for a mature audience, or to be read with guided discussion.

Scott has done it again! I am absolutely stunned and completely clueless as to 1. What is going to happen in the 3rd Book, 2. How in the hell am I going to wait until next year to see what happens and 3. How the next book is going to be the last.
I have grown so attached to all of these wonderful characters. The storyline went in a completely different direction than I thought it would, and I loved every single moment of that rollercoaster ride. This is easily my favorite Sci-Fi series, and I cannot wait to shove this sequel into the hands of teens at my library! Now, to wait another year or more to read the next! I’m scared for what comes next, fathom?
