although i wasn’t the biggest fan of laurie, her take on the restaurant industry was fascinating to me. unfortunately a lot hasn’t changed and her lack of sugarcoating hit home. i could do with less of her personal life as it just made me want to shake her

The writing is compelling in a way, had it not been I would have DNF. It’s mostly about a person constantly making bad decisions and a little about restaurant culture. But while compelling none of it was written with any conviction.
