If you didn't know Poe was also a poet, you'd be able to tell right away just from reading his prose. Every line is a hypnotic river that draws you in and pulls you along through vivid detail and gothic motifs. I enjoyed how much the narrator tried to couch the odd goings-on in logic, all the way up to the short's final moments. It made a unique contrast to Poe's lofty and haunting words.
