Short story about a man who visits his ailing friend. During the visit, the friend’s sister dies. He tries to console him by reading stories to him. The sounds described in the story are heard audibly. The sister comes back and falls in the friend as the whole house of Usher descends into the lake. Weird but not bad. It’s Poe.

I think I need to read this again. Honestly, I liked the premise and the writing towards the end, just not the setup? I feel like if I re-read it, I'll have more of an appreciation for it.

Very dark and mysterious. The family suffers from an illness that in it it of itself is alive and tormenting the Usher siblings. The eerie atmosphere is very interesting to contrast the paranoia that falls in the setting.
