REALLY cheesy, but quick and fun read! I got this book for free from Amazon and went in totally blind.

I don’t know why, but the hardest part of this book for me to get on board with was that they shape-shifted into mountain lions. Like, why mountain lions? Why not just the standard wolves?

The pacing was…alarmingly fast. The dialogue was sensationally unrealistic, but often had me cackling. The plot was…wait, was there a plot? The number of times someone’s body type or size was mentioned was TRULY infinite—this was a major theme. The irony that a veterinarian mated with two shifters was lost on no one.

Also, did Tyler exist behind the initial chapters? Because it didn’t seem like it. This “perfect pair” felt quite a bit like a couple with a third wheel. Poor guy…

Overall, I really did enjoy reading this. It was a nice little palate cleanser after some intense reads and I regret nothing.

I rarely write reviews for books, but man this one had me foaming at the mouth, and not in a good way. The amount of sl*t shaming (but only for women), misogyny, and awful representation of insecurities had me fuming. Sure I finished the book but I promise you, it was a real struggle (and I got it for free on SYKD). I kept hoping “Maybe it’ll get better,” but gods was I wrong. I skimmed maybe the last 20% of this solely because I refused to DNF after putting so much time into it. I swear, every time one of the MMC’s said something awful about a woman they had slept with, I could feel my teeth grinding. And the fact that they said some of this garbage in front of their “fated mate?” She already had enough insecurities, gods forbid an actual fight had happened and they spewed some of this hatred at her. Would she just roll over and accept it? Because they were trash talking women they had slept with, and treating them like they were OBJECTS, to which she said “Oh you mean I’m SPECIAL?” Wow, they treat you like a person, that means you’re special, congrats. Bringing it back to the insecurities, trust me, I get it, people have issues. Gods know I’m not 100% comfortable in my body, as a plus size person no less, but I swear it is so exhausting always finding books about plus size women tearing themselves to pieces because of societal norms. This was written in 2019, plus size women can be comfortable in their own bodies and date conventionally attractive men.

3.5 rounded up

This was an ok read, kinda fast and lacking a bit in plot, but still entertaining - and so worth KU. I like that the female lead is bigger and how she expresses her insecurities, because we all know how that goes. The guys are different, and while I didn’t get a good feel for any of them, lacking the development, it was still fun.
