Loved, loved, loved this book the perfect combination of suspense and romance. I have to be honest, after reading this book, I couldn't wait to see what happened next and now 3 days later, I have been on a Marie Force reading binge and am on book 4 of the series. I had to pause to write my review before I got to far ahead.
Nick and Sam's chemistry was off the charts. From the first time they met in the book, I knew that it was going to be an interesting ride. The suspense story kept me on the edge of my seat, and I never had the killer pegged!
I am very stingy with my 5 star ratings....rarely do books get 5 stars from me and rarely do I just jump into a reading binge! This book/series has elicited both a 5 star and a reading binge! Bravo Marie! Bravo!
I normally write longer reviews, but I am right in the middle of my book...and I want to go back to reading more of the Fatal Series. What are you waiting for? Get this book...read this series!!!! Most definitely recommend!

Note to self: I've tried reading this book several times and I always end up bored. Try again some other time?
Good suspense, with a sweet love story. A few red herrings in there, but by the time they thought it was the baby momma, I'd figured out who it really was. Didn't like the throw-away hotel scene with Freddie, so I'm hoping that comes back in a later novel (glad to find out this is a series). Pacing was good; my tablet says this is close to 1000 pages, and it didn't feel like it at all. It has characters that I can get invested in and care about. On to read the next one.
Wow! What a wonderful. I totally enjoyed this story so much. Suspense, romance, action, from the first page, I was riveted. Nick and Samantha kept me engaged and wanting to find out who done it. I actually didn't figure it out until almost the very end. Lol. I enjoyed Nick and Sam's romance so much. I'm glad that Nick was stubborn and refused to let Samantha go a second time around. Nick and Sam were together for one night six years ago and due to, her roomate, who turned out to be her ex-husband, they were apart for 6 years. Now due to recent events they are in each other's company and the chance they missed the first time, burns brighter and hotter than before! I couldn't get enough of this story and was up to 3am when I was done with the last page. An amazing read!
This is book 2 in the series. Sam has been promoted to Lieutenant for the Metropolitan Police Dept. Nick has taken over John's vacancy in the Senate. There's been another murder that Sam has to investigate. This story continues on with that investigation and the love affair between Sam and Nick. There is humor, romance and suspense. Loved it.
An enjoyable romantic suspense with likeable characters. I figured out who did it early on, but was still impressed by how Force introduced a number of possible suspects. I will definitely continue with the series.

This was trying too hard to be like the In Death series and failing miserably, which is a shame, cos I was really looking forward to enjoying a similar series, with a badass couple, but this was a pale imitation, the love was way too insta, and the policwork was so shoddy, eve def spoiled me, but after seeing her work what Sam was doing here was laughable, and ig the fact that we had a lot of telling instead of showing really didn't help matters either, shame, but it is what it is
I went up to x2.5 and I mightve finished it, but then I started reading other stuff and I just couldn't find it in me to pick this back up

I feel like if I had read this book before reading State Affairs, I would have given it a 5 star review but since I didn't, I think it's deserving of a 4 star review. It definitely had more spiciness than I was expecting but I really enjoyed the mystery and the romance as well as the side characters. I am eagerly waiting for the next book to become available and hear more about Sam and Nick.
Good friends and fellow readers introduced me to Marie Force's writing and her two spin-off series, Fatal and First Family. Even though I started with the wrong series order, I decided to start from the beginning and in order.
Sam and Nick's love story had a bump of six years, but bad luck for the young Senator Johnson brought them back together with a couple of obstacles.
Fatal Affair is a thrilling and romantic page-turner that will captivate readers who crave a suspenseful mystery with a strong female protagonist and a sizzling romance. It is perfect for fans of intricate plots, steamy chemistry, and a dash of political intrigue.
I love Sam's family and everybody who surrounds her. I also like how the author shows that people with learning difficulties can become lieutenants in the police force. Sam's dyslexia does not hold her back; she knows how to work with it and has people she can trust to help her.
I love how committed Nick is to Sam. He genuinely loves her for the person she is, and their communication on aspects of life is admirable.
