I felt conflicted on this one. I wanted to like it, enjoyed it in the beginning, then I wanted to DNF, but also I can’t stand judging something I don’t finish (yet more often than not sticking with it doesn’t work out for me). I liked the first book in the series, but the other ones have been disappointing.
It promised fun. Grumpy sunshine, enemies to lovers. Ted lasso Roy/Jamie fanfic, sorta. It started out fun. It flirts with being deep, sometimes opening the characters up, talking about their deeper issues. There’s one scene in particular when the grumpy one is dealing with chronic pain issues and the sunshine one is helping him through it. It’s a moment they get closer, become vulnerable with each other, I loved it. I wish the whole book had been that delicate and with the characters, as in showing rather than telling their feelings and state of mind. I wish it had been a true slow burn, with real stakes. But mostly the characters were cardboard cutouts, a lot of weird manipulation by side characters and silly moments. It felt unrealistic, and they moved from enemies to lovers very fast. There’s a lot of ‘in the head’ ruminations that don’t feel grounded. The ending felt overwrought and undeserved for the characters.

Everything For You is the fifth book of The Bergman Brothers series of interconnected standalones. I loved everything about sunshine Oliver and grumpy Gavin! These two avoid each other if at all possible…that is until they have to co-captain together and have to be around each other and learn to get along. They even have to share a hotel room where there is only one bed! Oh, and they are next door neighbors. I loved everything about Oliver and Gavin’s story from the tension, the little pranks, the spice and being back with the Bergman family again. I laughed so much through this book and it is one that will stick with me for a while!

(Disclaimer: I received this book from the publisher. This has not impacted my review which is unbiased and honest.)
If you love queer romance stories, football (or at least Ted Lasso), and grumpy versus sunshine - Everything for You is for you. What I love is the mix of tropes and elements from there's only one bed, to enemies to lovers, to co-captains. You've got a book loaded with goodness, swoons, and sighs. But I think what cements Everything for You are the characters. This dual POV allows us to see Oliver's people pleasing. How desperate he is to be loved, to be liked, that he isn't sure who he really is underneath it all. And for Gavin with the imminent end of his career, who is he behind soccer?

DNF - Sunshine x grumpy. The plot was okay but it can be dragging especially at the end.
Chloe Liese never misses. This book was filled to the brim with swoon-worthy romantic moments, and characters that will absolutely steal your heart, all while exploring heavier, more emotional themes.
I utterly adored Oliver and Gavin's romance. The extreme grumpy/sunshine, the forced proximity, I could not put it down for one moment. Both characters, despite their supposed hatred of each other, have a deep desire to protect and take care of each other, which makes reading each of their perspectives so fun. I loved how many layers there were to their relationship, particularly on Gavin's side. Oliver represents everything that Gavin is about to lose, and I really enjoyed the fact that he did the work to get past that mentality so that he could have a chance to be with Oliver.
There are so many Ted Lasso vibes when it comes to this book. Gavin feels so much like Roy Kent, while Oliver shares Ted's boundless optimism combined with his struggles with anxiety and panic attacks. Another element of the story that felt like Ted Lasso in book form was the team itself. You don't get too much time to spend with the other players on the page, but the moments you do have with them show that they are all absolutely lovable, and reminded me of the team from the show with their dynamic as a group.
And of course, once again Viggo comes into this book being an absolute LEGEND with his meddling antics.
I think at this point it's fair to assume that you cannot expect an unbiased opinion from me when it comes to the Bergman Brothers because oh. my. goodness. This book was delightful. This series is delightful. Everyone needs to read it ASAP.

Chloe Liese has once again written an amazing book full of disability representation. Oliver’s anxiety and Gavin’s chronic pain were both so relatable and I loved this book.
This book was full of amazing tropes lol
- grumpy sunshine trope lmao. Gavin was so pressed abt Oliver wearing colors I loved it
- forced proximity
- ONLY ONE BED
I can’t wait for the next book in this series :))
