This has been one of my favorite books for a long, long time and it was fun to reread it with my kiddos. Funny how I didn’t remember anything about Michelangelo or Angel, but I definitely remembered the violin case in the sarcophagus and sleeping in the 18th century French four poster bed and bathing in the museum fountain.

Even though a lot of things have changed since the book was written and I originally read this book as a child, I'm thrilled to see that the book holds up over time. I hope to read this with children even a decade from now.

This was a great book! Interesting and it's set in 1960s but I didn't realize it was written in the 1960s.

It was good, but I think I liked it more as a kid, before I could imagine how frantic the parents were!

Isaac and I liked this book so much we just blew past bedtime so we could finish it. A sweet adventure story about a brother and sister with just enough mystery and mayhem to keep us biting until the very end. I asked Isaac what kind of adventure he'd like to have and he said he'd like to go on an adventure in Central or South America. I also asked if he'd like to run away to a museum. He scoffed and said, "Not if my parents weren't there." Just had to check that he wasn't getting any ideas.
