Obviously I had known that this book is a classic but I was still absolutely blown away of how good it is. It is double-plus-good. The only part that I thought dragged is when Winston is reading the manifesto. Besides that, it is so captivating, influential and horrifying. I don't have the words to articulate how much this resonated with me. 1984 really is that bitch!!

I didn’t like this book. The concept is fascinating, and I loved the idea of the plot.
I hated Julia, and I hated her introduction to Winston. It makes zero sense. I hated her personality, and I hated how there was no depth to that relationship. The author didn’t fledge out their relationship whatsoever, all they did was have sex.
O Brien being a thought police also made zero sense. The author could’ve spent more time developing the relationship between him and Winston to make that entire part of the story shocking???

You can just tell this book was written by a man with a huge ego. There are about 100 pages of this book, that is the character reading book full of information we already know. The things mentioned during this part of the book could’ve been summarized in 10 pages (maybe even less!)
Actually, I hate this book. The chapters are too long and it COULD HAVE BEEN SO GOOD.
