Brock never really explain himself

"You know why? It proves what you've been through and what you've survived. That smile is a fucking miracle. Just like every breath you take is. That smile is nothing to ever be ashamed of. It's a smile to be fucking proud of."

I probably say this every time, but this book was definitely my favourite in the series. It took me a while to read it because I didn’t want it to be the end because all that Alpha Male goodness made me swoon.
I loved this book probably because I related to the character the most. I didn’t have a life threatening experience but everything else in life was me. She was relatable and everything she did and how she acted was what I would do. Who knows, fingers crossed I find my own Brock? ;)

Every time I see a new book about to release from this series I get super giddy but also super nervous because eventually there has to be a couple or story that I don't like, right? Well, it hasn't happened yet!!

Even though I found myself torn between wanting Jillian to stay mad at Brock for how he acted in the past and wanting her to just forget everything and GO FOR IT, I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this book.

Brock was so sweet and patient with Jillian but not so much that he didn't show her at every turn how much he wanted her. Jillian was guarded and scared, and who could blame her, but Brock helped bring out the fierce woman she really was and when she let that fierceness put, it was glorious.

Their story flowed perfectly. Nothing about them felt rushed or overdone. They moved from friendship to more at a steady pace that really felt developed and real.

Admittedly, I just kept waiting for the moment when the shoe would drop and everything would fall apart but I couldn't for the life of me figure out how it was going to happen. Just as JLA handled the history between Jillian and Brock with beauty and grace, she handled the moment where everything could have been make or break with maturity and thoughtfulness. Her storytelling is flawless.

I said it before and I'll say it again, this series could go on forever and I would dive in to each book without hesitation.

The overall thing is extremely mediocre. The whole series seem like a pretty bad idea, the storyline really lacking and mainly this feels like the same book repeated seven times with different character names. However, reaching the end of the final book of the series, I was surprised to suddenly feel nostalgic about it, almost like while going through this weird journey I made a bunch of new friends I will now be saying goodbye to. It's truly a shame that Ollie and Kate didn't get books dedicated to them, this could have been a way more interesting story to look into since they are my favorite characters in this series. The sex scenes really improved in comparison to the first books. I liked seeing some hints to mild BDSM in this book, it really suits Brock's character. Overall Wait For You grew on me by the end.

I was looking forward to this book because. I love a good second chance romance book and JLA never disappoints with her books.

Brock and Jillian's story was so much more than a second chance "romance". It was a second chance at being best friends. A second chance at being with the one person who go you to your very core. A first chance in being with that person heart and soul.

Growing up, Brock and Jillian were a lot of things to each other, but they never crossed the line and became romantic. Jillian my have been in love with him, but Brock ensured he never crossed that line with her. Too much was on the line for him, personally. He'd found a family with Jillian's. He found a careers in training at Lima Academy. And he had his best friend in Jillian. He wasn't willing to lose any of that by sleeping with her and screwing it up. But what he had with Jillian was ultimately screwed up and they needed to figure out a way to work past that and remember exactly why they were so close to begin with.

I loved these two together. Brock brought levity to Jillian's life. She was too serious, too down on herself. She needed Brock to help her learn to live again. She may not have seen that, immediately, and couldn't see past the hurt Brock had caused her, but her eventually pushed past her walls and proved to her that she was worth every it to him. He proved to her that he'd grown up and despite what she thought, had always seen her.

This was a great ending to the Wait for You series. Each one of these characters had an inner strength that was enviable and while at the same time being completely likable. Brock and Jillian were no exception. Brock didn't come off as the superstar UFC fighter he was, instead he was approachable, funny and so in love with Jillian it made you a little jealous.
