I love anything that gets me a little glimpse into Lyra's world. These little snippets were so cute and thought-provoking in places, too.
beautiful - snapshots from the world and lives of Lyra, Will, Mary... I will likely re-read this a lot

It feels like a deleted scenes section of a dvd with interesting bonus content for those who read the core series. It would be incomprehensible to those fresh to the franchise.
I mostly bought this because I found a signed copy on Waterstones. That’s pretty much it’s entire value.
The book itself took me about 20 minutes to read. There’s about 45 or so half page entries that are basically random snippets from the world of His Dark Materials that I can imagine we’re just PP’s scrawling notes of ideas that crossed his mind and he either developed into the books or not. There were a few snippets that made me smile thinking about Will and Lyra and Mary in the future but most of it was pretty useless.
I’d say this book is only required for the hardcore collectors of everything in this world, it doesn’t add anything new really.

A slim jolt of magic that barely justifies its cover price but is a delight nonetheless.
Well. This was a bit of a surprise when I opened the book. I knew it would be a short book, but I wasn't expecting it to be basically like 65% blank? I had assumed there would be illustrations or something.
Sad to give something from this author and this series such a low review rating, but...yikes.

The Imagination Chamber is a lovely book, but be aware: This is not a novel, a novella, or an actual narrative. The Imagination Chamber is a collection of snippets, little bits and pieces of text from the author's imagination that float through the worlds of His Dark Materials. Some pages contain just a sentence or two; some, a few paragraphs. There's no overarching story, just a sampling of ideas. I thought it was quite special, but it seems that people picking this up with different expectations walk away frustrated.
In my opinion, this would make a great gift for anyone who loves the series.
