So fun, I really loved the characters and their arcs. The show within the book scenes were great, really enjoyed this and can't wait to read the rest of this series!

This book was cheesy and a bit unrealistic at times, but also SUCH a delight. Once I started watching it, I couldn’t stop until I was done. The chemistry between Jasmine and Ashton was so addictive to read about, and it was a nice change of pace from the heavier books I’ve been reading recently.

Don't wanna rate a POC author harshly so I'm gonna leave out the stars, but I'm keeping this review here for myself. The only good thing about this book is the representation. Otherwise, the romance of this book makes me very heterophobic because this is not a love story, this is just a lust story and the characters are not even friends with each other. The love interest isn't even considerate or kind to the female character and keeps using his trauma as a reason, and the female character concocted a Leading Lady Plan which supposedly is all about female empowerment and how you can be strong without needing a guy, just to ditch it once she meets the guy.

This book had so much potential to be five stars. Everything was set in place for the perfect recipe for the type of rom coms I adore-plot with more depth, character development, unique story line and the fact that this book caters around Latinx characters really had me. However, the chemistry between the two characters just felt very lukewarm. It was a bit awkward, and considering they are both 30 and over, I expected more. I think the author rushed the romance between the two. Romance needs more build up and needs to be taken slower and this just felt too rushed- hence why it felt very dry. The steamy scenes were done really well but the love felt so meh.Normally rom rom will have me gushing and all giddy but this was very mono-tone. Had the chemistry been worked up more, this would easily fall into my fav rom com to date.

Everything else was great and I will be awaiting for the author's next read!

Wow wow. I loved this so much. It was a great set up, great tension build and amazing ending. I just loved Jasmine’s journey to find herself and Ashton finding something worth opening up for.

I wasn’t fully sure how it would all come together and it was just perfect.

Also some things I feel like are often left out of sex scenes were included like lube without it being a big deal.

Pre release: I feel like if I have to deal with illustrated covers this is 1000% what I want from them.

this was fine. an easy read but didn’t connect with the characters or the connection much so it was just fine

I loved the story and the characters. I especially loved the difference between the TV show scenes and the real characters descriptions.

The only thing I wasn't happy about was how easily Jasmine forgave Ashton for the way he acted after his secret came out. The secret itself could have been easily forgiven with some communication. But the way he acted and blamed her after... that's the part that really bothered me.

Nonetheless I really enjoy Alexis Daria's writing and will read the other books in this series.

This book just didn't take for me. Narrators? Bad timing? Dunno....
